Why are you posting in "cod Latin" - is to indicate your educational superiority?

Lovely. So they offer them the value proposition of being with a guy who's lifelong "career" will be teaching English to kids making little money. He might be young and handsome now, but wait till he's in his 40's and alcoholic and you can barely take care of your kids because there's never any money around (if he'll even remain around by then). Just wasting their time. (actual example of a couple I know - guy is alcoholic, wife is miserable)

Kinda funny with the downvotes. I guess some of you are language teachers? :cheesy:

Maybe a little to be concerned with. As with anyone who served in the military, they are trained to kill.

I am starting to feel concerned about failing so many stereotypes - I was in the Army for many years and I really am not good at killing people - at least not without artillery (I was a gunner). When I retired from the Army I became a teacher, but I am neither miserable nor an alcoholic. Now retired from that, I stick around and am putting my daughter through university.

I do like to go for the occasional drink, and confess to enjoying chatting  and flirting with a couple of girls with whom I am friends. I have never attempted to persuade them to sleep with me, nor do I return with a sharp object and an iron bar!

Perhaps I need advice to enable me to conform? I rather feel that I am missing out somewhere!

Don't worry @Quentin Zen, we're all aware of your obsessive dislike of, and expansive stereotyping of  foreign teachers in Thailand!

What we aren't aware of, of course, is what drives it - perhaps you couldn't hack it?

I have worked as an English teacher along side Brits, Americans, Australians, Filipino's and been with them socially. I cannot think of any of them who could be termed as almost  always up to no good.

He was just about to turn green and tear up all his clothes. Got him in time.

And why does his Thai have a Brummy accent? :coffee1:

That didn't even vaguely resemble Thai.

This guy is such a throwback to what cowboy  "english teachers" were  20 years ago.

He is very much a dying breed.

Yes, but that means nothing unless they can do what's needed when the time comes. Anyone can take martial arts and freeze when a fight happens. Having a killer instinct is what matters. Taking a life isn't as easy as it sounds if you're a normal person. It is easy for a sociopath that's been raised with no respect for life itself.

oh for <deleted> sake.

Drinkers.

Getting in fights.

Last month there was a story of a kid drinking and driving.  another fake teacher.

They are super creepy people.

Some without degrees

Many broke

Almost all have no clue about how to teach.

Back in 2015 when a fake teacher told me he liked them young, paid to get them young, drank, loved to drink and drive, got high, and about 10 of his fake "teachers" all seemed at home......well, that was enough for me.

Anyone can do that fake job.

This is just one more example of the morals these clowns have.

It just feels dirty thinking about those scum.

I will troll them and their fanboys and defenders forever.

Yea, those "fake teachers" sound almost as bad as monks.

No doubt you saw the article about ordained monks boozing and womanizing that ran here recently.

As the old saying goes, "Those who can, do; those who can't, teach or join the monkhood."

Not nearly as bad as Monks.   Could explain why so many monks make the news.   Many are simply low end 'criminals' who where given a course, 'Jail or Monkhood'.   Why 2 of my ex in laws were monks.

Days past if 'troubled youth' and in front of the judge in USA, many would offer up joining up in the military (not why I joined the US Army), instead of heavy fine or minor jail time.

Took a hellraising friend to court one time, and he got offered 'join the Navy' or heavy fine' and he chose the fine.   Thinking same as me, 'stuck on a ship, no girls .. HELL NO'.

Only really strange thing about that whole thing, there was Navy recruiter at the courthouse, selling the benefits of joining :cheesy:  They must get a bonus for # of recruits per month, and good fishing grounds.

What kind of world is it when a Brit has to claim he's a former US Mil or Navy SEAL?

Isn't SAS good enough? Does that no longer "impress" the bargirls?

I don't know how many times I have to say this.... Foreign language teachers are almost ALWAYS up to no good.   This one appears TYPICAL.  Drinker, goes after women in a bar, gets in a fight......

How anyone could pay money to let these criminals spend time with their kids is beyond me.

Soon the International fanboys will come out and say that's not possible there......oh it is.

You're talking nonsense about what you perceive as a TYPICAL teacher plus this isn't even right.  "How anyone could pay money to let these criminals spend time with their kids is beyond me."  Most language school teachers,(as it's fairly obvious it's a language school and not an actual school)  teach adults.

Certainly up past Gloucester. Very dodgy - always dark up that way!

Exactly.  Some ex-soldiers think that they are special because of their choice to enter the armed forces and that they, therefore, deserve unquestioned respect..."I'm a vet!".

"Some" is the operative word here. Most of us Vets know that respect is earned and not by merely putting your hand up. It is what you did AFTER you signed up that earns respect.

The fake teachers you speak of are very few and far between these days.

Thais of all levels understand what a low-class, uneducated foreigner looks like and are simply no longer willing to put up with it.

The days you describe are past.

Even back in 2015 this was increasingly rare.

Late 90s to early 2000s, however, were a real <deleted> show.
