Police are under mounting pressure to act after a disturbing video surfaced online showing a man violently assaulting a 7-year-old autistic boy in the early hours of the morning. The incident, which took place outside the Sri Yon Market in the Bo Sang area of Chiang Mai, has sparked public outrage across social media.

According to the post by Facebook user Emmy Nived Sukeaw, who shared CCTV footage of the attack, the incident occurred at approximately 04:00 on 13 July. The child, referred to as “Nong A”, had been waiting with his mother, Ms. Rerai, to catch transport to sell lottery tickets at Chiang Mai’s Muang Mai market. They were accompanied by Rerai’s younger sister, “Jeje”.

The trouble began when a stray dog, reportedly familiar to the area, barked at a man passing by. The man, wearing a sleeveless shirt, began shouting angrily at Ms. Rerai, demanding that she restrain the dog. Rerai explained that the animal was a stray and not under her control, but the man reportedly grew increasingly agitated.

Crossing the road toward the group, the man began to intimidate them. Fearing for their safety, the family moved to a more brightly lit area outside a claw machine shop. But the man followed and continued his verbal tirade, eventually escalating to physical violence. He was captured on video kicking Jeje, before turning and delivering a brutal kick to young Nong A’s face, knocking the child to the ground and causing him to cry out in pain. The man also attempted to attack the boy’s mother before she fled the scene.

The video has since gone viral, prompting a wave of condemnation and demands for justice. Disturbingly, Rerai claimed that when she reported the assault at the Bo Sang police outpost, officers refused to register her complaint or provide any assistance. As a result, she turned to social media for help.

In response to public backlash, local police have now launched a manhunt to identify and apprehend the assailant. Authorities say they are reviewing CCTV footage and questioning witnesses in the area.

The attack has reignited concern over the treatment of people with disabilities and the accountability of law enforcement. Advocacy groups and members of the public are calling for swift legal action against the perpetrator, as well as disciplinary measures for the officers who allegedly refused to act.

The power of social media. Quite the tragedy when the only way you can get these cops out of the donut shop is to take to social media.

Nice....

Any confirmation on nationality as Thai people "would never do this"

That Police is rotten to the core. Hopefully they get strong punishments.

Yes, he doesn’t look Thai.

The cops ought to be incarcerated first, and then that scumbag. Both sides to face very lengthy incarcerations.;

Now, if a policeman's son had been assaulted, they would have come down on it like a ton of bricks. Come to think of it, the police did assault a policeman's son. But as dad was a cop, he got immediate attention.

Truly.

Without it, the rest of the society didn't even notice "it" happened.

One case of positive sns impact.

Hopefully gets some local justice before the police catch him .

Shut down the police station...the officers are as rotten as the attackers...

Leaving her child defenseless, on the ground and in pain?

Are you the child? What are you whining and crying about?

You don't know she left the scene without the kids, neither do I but give her the benefit of the doubt FFS. That is what you picked out of this story? Idiot. Nothing about the scum who made the attack or the inefficient, lazy POS police?

You should be ashamed but probably don't have the level of intelligence to feel such an emotion .

💯  Fortunately this was caught on camera. Let justice prevail.

What difference does it make. A scumbag is a scumbag no matter where they come from.
