Beat me to it.  Rome and Paris were both especially full of litter when I visited.  And, of course, it's difficult to actually see anything with all the graffitti covering everything everywhere.

Shirtless tourists should be arrested and fined! LOL!!  I'd like to meet the many expats complaining about this, I'll bet you could fit them in a phone booth.

 

I have no problem with the smoking ban.

 

Cigarette and pot smoke smells really bad and is a health hazard. When on vacation or living in a beach area I'm there for the fresh air (as fresh as it can be at least) without additional huffing and puffing of the Mary J and Tabacky.

Thailand does have laws about smoking.... just wonder if the police were ever briefed!

It's a beach location / holiday, so going shirtless is to be expected.   BUT ... to enter into a business, and it should be no shirt / no service, especially restaurants & bars, as I don't want to sit in the same chair you just left with your sweat all over it.

 

All for smoking ban, all smoke-ables, as I indulge responsibly at home as the decriminization laws was proposed & passed to allow.

 

Nobody should have to endure any 2nd smoke of any kind in all public areas.  Increasing the fine to 10k or 20k baht works for me.   Especially tobacco products as they seem to litter the beach & walkways.

Carry on smoking boys and girls outside , if that's what you want to do.

But put a shirt on when you leave the beach. 

If people don't like the smell of smoke outside.

Then move down the beach a little.

Nobody hates these shirtless slobs more than me, but I do not see anything wrong with being shirtless on the beach, and women should be allowed to be topless also.

The best thing about the 90'ies was banning smoking in public establishments.

 

It is not only me, my wife is worse, she hated smoking and people do not follow local rules

They could have a roped off area on the beach for filthy smokers, would be easier to clean up, and more importantly ban in bars and restaurants.
