How can it be an insult? It's not unlawful to be gay or lesbian. Even in Thailand it's not.

I worked together with gays and lesbians in many hospitals happy together. They were great people. None of them was taking it as an insult when they were named as lesbian and gay.

Be more tolerant and try to be a philantropist than looking with disgust on to people who don't share your way of sexuality.
