A 29-year-old man was killed in a horrific crash in the early hours of morning when his modified pickup truck lost control and slammed into a power pole, causing the engine to detach and be flung across the road.

The fatal incident occurred at approximately 03:40 on 20 July, near the entrance to Napha Municipality on Sukprayoon Road, inbound to Phanat Nikhom, in Don Hua Lo subdistrict. Officers from Don Hua Lo Police Station, along with rescue workers from the Tai Khunatham Foundation, rushed to the scene following an emergency call.

Upon arrival, authorities found a heavily damaged Toyota Revo pickup truck, modified for high-speed performance, with Chonburi registration plates. The vehicle had collided forcefully with a high-voltage electricity pole, leaving the engine dislodged and lying in the middle of the road.

The driver, identified as Mr. Neti aged 29, was found deceased, trapped in the driver’s seat. Rescue workers used hydraulic cutting tools to extract the body.

Witnesses reported that the road surface was wet from light rain, and the pickup truck driver had been travelling at high speed before losing control and spinning into the pole.

In an emotional scene, the victim’s parents arrived at the site shortly after the accident. Grief-stricken and in tears, they revealed that Mr. Neti’s wife had just given birth and that they had warned him numerous times about the dangers of speeding.

Police are reviewing nearby CCTV footage as the investigation continues.

Pickups are not designed for racing, for many reasons.

Even Ferraris and Lambos are too much for regular drivers to handle.

This goon could have taken out an innocent family....

Too fast, Too selfish, Too stupid.

Good he never killed anyone else.

Pick-up's are really twitchy, especially on slippery roads.  The lightweight rear end can easily come around with even a small steering error, as it did in this case.

Good that no innocents were harmed, and another dangerous driver removed from the roads.

Well yes, rear wheel drive and a bit too much torque and away it goes.

My thoughts precisely.  Crashed on a perfectly flat, straight stretch of road. Probably taught himself how to drive.
