2 different messaging apps on your phone. Have a look at your apps to see which is which.

(My guess is one is Samsung's and one the default Android (Google) one

 Top Icon:

Google Messages

The stock messaging app on many Android phones, especially Pixel, Samsung (newer versions), and other Google-integrated devices.

Icon: Rounded blue speech bubble, simple and minimalistic.

Bottom Icon:

Samsung Messages

Samsung’s default SMS/MMS app, especially on older Samsung Galaxy phones.
