In a harrowing case that has shocked Chiang Mai, a Thai transwoman named Bell is seeking justice after suffering a brutal assault at the hands of a man she had previously met through a dating app. The ordeal began after Bell rejected his romantic advances following their one-night stand.

Bell, who narrowly escaped with her life, approached the Emmy Volunteer Team for help in filing a formal complaint at Chang Phueak Police Station. The assault happened on 18 July, escalating after she made it clear she wanted no further contact with the man.

Despite her attempts to distance herself, Bell was met with stalking and controlling behaviour. The man, infatuated and persistent, began showing up uninvited at her accommodation. Matters took a violent turn when he discovered Bell in her room with another man, leading him into a rage.

During the attack, Bell endured severe violence. Her assailant slapped her, hit her with a glass bottle, and threatened her life. The violence escalated as he dragged her to a nearby forest, where she was subjected to further assault and rape.

Bell’s nightmare did not end there. She recounted being taken to her attacker’s accommodation, where the abuse continued despite her dire injuries. Remarkably, she managed an escape by claiming she needed to meet her sister. Before letting her go, the man forced her to conceal her injuries with makeup.

Her ordeal was compounded by theft. Bell reported the man had stolen her phones, personal documents, and valuables, leaving her not only traumatised but also deprived of essential possessions.

Nivad “Emmy” Sukeaw, founder of the Emmy Volunteer Team, stated in an interview with Channel 7 that the suspect remains at large. Despite being sought by the police, he has contacted Bell, seeking forgiveness and unwisely attempting to rekindle their relationship.

The case highlights the urgent need for stronger protective measures and justice for vulnerable individuals. Many are calling for swift action to ensure the perpetrator faces accountability. Community advocates stress the importance of awareness and support networks for victims of such crimes, urging societal change to prevent future incidents.

As the investigation continues, Bell’s bravery in speaking out serves as a poignant reminder of the challenges faced by the transgender community in confronting violence and seeking justice. The outcome of this case will be closely watched, both locally and internationally, as a measure of Thailand’s commitment to human rights and the protection of marginalised groups.

The community is now eager for the authorities to act decisively and reassure the public of their dedication to justice and safety for all.

Well...wasn't she just asking for it?....contacting a man on a dating app then rejecting his advances?

No sympathy......next she'll be complaining that he kept looking at her and he wouldn't stop when she asked him to.

Gotta say the injuries don't look any worse than a couple of guys trading a few punches on an evening out.

Thai government should employ and train Pattaya and Phuket transwomen to teach self defense to transwomen around the country.  It would make use of their existing combat skills and get them off the streets and into a meaningful role in society.  Side benefit would be we would probably get to see more tiktok videos of newly confident transwomen beating up disrespectful Indian tourists.

See, above we have AN´s finest in action. Making jokes, derailing subject and blaming the victim. Good on you! You should all have a medal forced up your arse.

Transwoman or not, she is a victim of rape and assault. Try and get that up your thick skulls.

Oh dear.....before you get excited at the prospect of stuffing medals anywhere....think about my post....doh!!!

See, you just managed to make an even bigger fool out of yourself. Seems you have it very hard to respect people and their choices in life.

A man with a penis is a 'he'. Flowery dress and mental health issues or not. 🙂

Victim blaming has always been common among some of the BMs here.

I genuinely wonder...is it a lack of empathy, low education levels, or have they just gone native and adopted Thai logic?

Yeah, but normal dudes would have just had a beer afterwards instead of engaging in abnormal sexual acts. That being said, there is probably more to the story here, but dudes who force their cucumbers on others should be punished. Even if the victim is a loon.

Yet your comment advocates shoving a medal up peoples ass. Which in itself is rape/ secual assault.

Well done on the total hypocrisy.

Nah, it was just an act to make them feel more in line with the victim, as they seemed to deserve that.

If you say so. Youre no better than those you criticized.

Pathetic.

The only thing pathetic here is you, as you simply can´t understand what level of behavior the kind of people I quoted are on. Just go find you playmates now.

You made an equally disgusting comment.  The definition of hypocrisy.

You seem to think I'm homophobic. And you've gotten quite angry earlier in this discussion.

One doesn't need to be homophobic or hateful to know that a man with a penis is a 'he'. 🙂

Though those with low IQ and a serious mental illness may struggle with that. 🙂
