Is bMiriam Calling the Shots? Why Don't Americans Stop These Mega-Donors Having a Say?

I'm genuinely curious – how is it that someone like Miriam Adelson, an Israeli-born billionaire, can have such a massive say in U.S. foreign policy?

She’s not just a big donor – she’s arguably helped shape American policy toward Israel in ways that go way beyond what the average citizen could ever influence. Her support for a "Greater Israel", her opposition to a two-state solution, and her financial backing of Netanyahu and other hardliners are well known.

Let’s look at what happened during the Trump years – nearly all of it in line with what the Adelsons wanted:

U.S. Embassy moved to Jerusalem
Recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital
Golan Heights recognized as Israeli territory
Aid to Palestinians slashed
Iran deal scrapped
Abraham Accords pushed through

They didn’t just cheer from the sidelines. The Adelsons reportedly donated over $400 million(largest donors in US history) to Republican causes between 2012–2020. That kind of money bought them direct access to Trump and his inner circle. Miriam even got the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2018.

She also funds a string of pro-Israel and Zionist causes, like:

Birthright Israel

Yad Vashem

Maccabee Task Force

Israel Hayom (a free pro-Netanyahu newspaper in Israel)

All this raises the question:

Why is this allowed?
How can one ultra-rich donor (with dual loyalties, no less) shape American foreign policy so profoundly?

Shouldn’t there be limits on political donations? Or at the very least, more transparency about how foreign-born billionaires are influencing U.S. policy?
