Ghislaine Maxwell, convicted for her role in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, has been transferred to a minimum-security women’s prison in Texas, authorities have confirmed. Serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking, Maxwell is pressing the Supreme Court to overturn her conviction while also seeking a pardon from President Trump.

The transfer comes amidst ongoing controversy over Maxwell's relationship with President Trump's administration, although the White House previously stated, "no leniency is being given or discussed." The BBC reached out to the White House for comments on Maxwell's move but received no immediate response. Maxwell’s lawyer, David Oscar Markus, confirmed the transfer but provided no further details.

The family of Virginia Giuffre, an Epstein victim, expressed outrage over the move, describing it as “preferential treatment” and accusing authorities of failing victims. Giuffre’s family condemned the transfer for occurring without notifying Maxwell's victims, calling for public indignation over what they perceive as special treatment for Maxwell.

Maxwell’s new home, the Federal Prison Camp (FPC) Bryan in Bryan, Texas, is about 100 miles from Austin. This facility hosts around 650 female inmates, including high-profile figures like Elizabeth Holmes, former CEO of Theranos. FPC Bryan’s inmates are housed in dormitories with a low staff-to-inmate ratio, typically reserved for non-violent offenders and those convicted of white-collar crimes.

In comparison, Maxwell’s previous facility in Florida, FCI Tallahassee, housed over 800 inmates of both genders. Despite strict discipline, inmates at FPC Bryan have access to educational and recreational activities and are allowed video calls and weekend visits.

Less than a week ago, Maxwell’s legal team revealed that she is willing to testify before Congress, contingent on receiving strict legal protections. Recently, Maxwell held two meetings with Deputy US Attorney General Todd Blanche, exploring whether she could provide information on other associates of Epstein, reported the BBC.

Following these meetings, Blanche indicated he would disclose findings “at an appropriate time.” Currently, Maxwell’s lawyer asserts that she has made no promises in exchange for her cooperation.

The Epstein case continues to place pressure on President Trump to release additional files, following his campaign promises. Instead, Trump has accused his political rivals of using the matter to divert attention from his administration’s achievements.

Good news. The sentence was obscenely harsh for hiring prostitutes, some of which later turned out to be underage. It was a warning to keep her mouth shut about who she was actually hiring them for.

5 years would have been more appropriate. She's already served that. A pardon would be sensible. I suspect she will serve the rest of her sentence in relative luxury in exchange for silence about the clients on BOTH sides.

Quell surprise….looks like the fix is in.

totally agree, she must have promised the Trump tram that she wouldn't provide any comments about the Trump family and Epstein IMHO and shortly, we will see a pardon from Trump for her.

Report from 2007:

Quote

Meanwhile, the Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach last night confirmed a Web site report that Epstein has been banned there. “He would use the spa to try to procure girls. But one of them, a masseuse about 18 years old, he tried to get her to do things,” a source* told us. “Her father found out about it and went absolutely ape-[bleep]. Epstein’s not allowed back.” Epstein denies he is banned from Mar-a-Lago and says, in fact, he was recently invited to an event there.

*The source was likely Trump or "John Barron" his pseudonym.

There's more...much more.

Giuffre was a 16-year-old towel girl who was recruited at Mar-a-Lago by Ghislaine Maxwell in 2000. Giuffre would go on to become one of his most outspoken victims, until her death by suicide in April.

Ghislaine is now serving a 20-year sentence in federal prison.

According to journalist Michael Wolff, her family leaked the birthday greeting Trump gave Epstein on his 50th birthday as a warning to Trump that she has incriminating evidence on him. Wolff said the No. 2 at the Department of Justice interviewed her to find out more.

This looks ominously like step one.

It was mooted in the press (no I don't have links) that her first demand would be a prison move.

Wow, this feels kind of strange, sharing a forum page with someone who is so casually accepting of pedophilia and child rape. Your slavish devotion to Trump surely has no bottom.

Now wonder you got 11 thumbs down for these comments, I added one more to make it 12 - well done!

A 5-year sentence would not reflect the gravity of Maxwell’s role in a decade-long sex trafficking scheme targeting minors, as evidenced by victim testimony and judicial reasoning. Her 20-year sentence balances the severity of her crimes with sentencing guidelines, aiming to deter similar offenses.

Your “BOTH sides” comment likely refers to a perceived bipartisan or elite network of Epstein’s clients, speculating that Maxwell’s sentence ensures her silence. While Epstein’s connections fuel such theories, no trial evidence or recent developments confirm a specific cover-up.

Maxwell’s ongoing appeals and DOJ interviews keep her case in the spotlight, but claims of a broader conspiracy remain unproven.
