First time I hear about this ...

Beijing’s obsession with Vietnam’s Spratly and Paracel Islands ...

China has "invaded" Viet Nam several times, the last being in mid February 1979 (after Viet Nam invaded Kampuchea in late 1978) until mid March 1979.  The massive invasion took a high toll on the Chinese forces, who made a "strategic withdrawal", claiming "mission accomplished".  There were reports of Chinese military vehicles bringing fresh soldiers to the fronts, and the vehicles returning to China full of Chinese corpses.

I hope not enough unrest around now.

This is ancient news.

China’s menacing in SEA’s waterways has been going on for quite a while, will there be a breaking point? Perhaps. A military response from China? Doubtful.

There's all sorts of nonsense on the internet these days, isn't there?
