August 2, 2025Aug 2 Is there much difference between Sunday and Monday traffic going back to Bangkok?
August 2, 2025Aug 2 I would suspect more on a Sunday due to day trippers.. but spread out a bit more timewise.
August 5, 2025Aug 5 I find Sunday to be the only decent day to travel in and around Bangkok and if I can plan a trip in or out of Bangkok on Sunday I will do so traffic is most definitely lighter and I'm sure this depends to some extent upon what time of day it is. With a Rama 2 fiasco continuing unabated, the only time I will drive into Bangkok is after 10:00 p.m. and the only time I will drive it out of Bangkok is before 5:30 a.m. But Sundays don't seem to be as bad as the other days.
August 5, 2025Aug 5 Popular Post I've always worked on the basis that the times to avoid are: - if driving out of BKK, avoid Friday arvo & Saturday morning - if driving in to BKK, avoid Sunday arvo & night.
August 5, 2025Aug 5 Was driving south on M9 / M7 on a Sunday afternoon and watched queus at a toll booth stretching over miles. The usual rule is: hoards from Bangkok coming in Friday night and Saturday morning. Leaving on Sunday. Next weekend is a long one stretching until Tue 12. Different rule. Expect gridlock in Pattaya.

August 5, 2025Aug 5 Popular Post Absolutely best and fastest time to go to Bangkok is Sunday mornings.

August 10, 2025Aug 10 I was just on Sukhumvit in Jomtien , Sunday 7PM and the going back to Bangkok traffic was insane.
August 12, 2025Aug 12 Hit or miss imo. I drive about 3-4000kms a month here all over thailand and there seems to be little logic to traffic congestion ( except downtown bkk ).
