Will Trump's "war on facts" eventually catch up with him?

IIRC correctly you were arguing worker wages would outpace inflation.

Imported beef tariff 10%.

Imported copper and steel up, tariff 50%.

Imported pharmaceuticals up, tariff 200%.

Countries import goods and services for a reason. They can't make enough of their own.

Are you one of those naive souls that believes lost manufacturing and manpower capacity can be replaced overnight?

No. I accept that there will be a period of adjustment. Even left wing economists like Krugman say there will be a one-time jump in prices but after that no more than what used to be an acceptable rate.

The average American household debt is $105,000. Do you really think the kind of tax shock coming is sustainable?

I am amused when Americans start frothing at the mouth about leftists.

Australia has had socialist governments on and off since Federation. Strangely, they seem to be the ones that introduce most of the reforms that benefit ordinary people.

It's America's misfortune Bernie Sanders is not 20 years younger.

I'm surprised the MAGA drones on here havn't chipped in with the old its all Bidens fault, and obama he usually gets a mention.

Because they still believe everything is peaches and cream.  Wait till things go south.  And they will.

Social Democrats gave us weekends, public libraries, child labor laws, public transportation, municipal police forces, and public schools, etc., etc., etc.

Republicans gave us the Ku Klux Klan.

Actually, Republicans were a nullity in the South until the 1964 election. So during the Klan's golden years, the South was a Democratic preserve.

For leftists to whine about adherence to facts is a bit like a a prostitute lecturing about loyalty. For years leftists have defamed and lied about Trump, from concocting false stories of him fingering post menopausal women in department stores, to engaging in golden showers in Russia, to Russian interference with elections with Trump colluding, to Trump being a Russian "asset",  to Trump being a pedohpile hiding Epstein's list,  to now 14000 new jobs in June. No lie, no matter how perverse, outlandish and unbelievable, was too low to stoop for leftists.

Now that Trump finally takes long overdue action to ensure employment data is accurate and trustworthy, by removing an obviously incompetent and most likely partisan, head of the BLS, he's supposedly "at war with facts".

When the job figures that were published are at best  fit for toilet paper. It's ludicrous.

Thankfully, Trump is on top of these things and we will now have a reliable and trustworthy person in charge at the BLS.

LOL!  You're doing it a third time!

I made a statement. You said that I said something completely different. THAT is putting words in my mouth.  Do you honestly think that people can't read what is written? Are you from one of the Southern states? That could explain it.
And now... that's enough. Enjoy your delusion.

You complained that the price of food would go up for Americans if the illegal immigrants weren't available to do the work. And about that you were right. But the problem with that is the fact that according to your way of thinking, and it's correct, cheap food prices depend in cheap illegal laborers.

No, it's quite the opposite. The economy depends on accurate data. It can't afford to have political zealots like McEntarfer falsify the numbers for political reasons. Firing McEntarfer is absolutely the right decision.

There have long been serious concerns about her numbers, overstating job figures when Biden was in power, and her last stunt was a bridge too far. The last revision was very obviously designed to embarass Trump and completely counter to all expectations and prior data.

It wasn't just Trump, many others had suspected McEntarfer of cooking up the numbers, and the economy can't afford to be misled by false data. Putting a different person in charge will strengthen trust in America's data, which McEntarfer had long eroded.

B.S.! 🤣

There were massive downwards revisions under Biden. And it was a by the same person who wasn't fired for it. And these revisions occured before the election! There were only minor upwards revisions after that in October (after a downward revision of 258k in August, upwards revisions of only 55,000 and 17,00 in October.

From your own link:

"While the BLS often revises job figures, the scale of the revisions — and what they said about the economy — stunned experts and investors after a week of relatively solid economic data."

So the BLS first reported that 147,000 jobs were created in June, and then "oh actually it was 14,000".

14000!!!! If you actually believe in all of the US only 14,000 new jobs were created in June, then you live in an alternate reality.

There are 33.2 MILLION businesses in the US, and they only created 14000 new jobs in June? Nobody in their right mind believes that.

More nonsense from you!

14 k is a balance between job creations and job losses. There were even negative job growth numbers in the past.

On top of it, this ridiculous MAGA conspiracy theory is incoherent!

If she wanted to rigg numbers, why didn't she do it in the first place, instead of waiting for a revision? 🙂

In August 2024, the revision was -258k. So she wanted to hurt Biden (who appointed her)? 😆

She must be a very hating person, for wanting to hurt both Biden and Trump! 🤣

The only nonsense is to dish up job growth figures of 14000 for the month of June, when you previously said it was  147,000.

In the US there are 33.2 million businesses. We are not in a recession. To suggest these 33.2 million businesses created only 14,000 new jobs in June is frankly the stuff of comedy. No sane person would believe these figures, given the constellation of economic markers we saw before.

In 2024 Apple ALONE and by itself created 3000 new jobs, but all 33.2 million businesses in the US created 14,000 new jobs in June?  Completely unbelievable.

Obviously, she waited for the revision to make the deception more believable, given how good the economic data was an out of the box figure of 14000 would have been even harder to sell.

If she pulled this before, even more reason for this incompetent/fiddler to be shown the door.

I totally agree with that comment because Trump has absolutely no idea what he's talking about on most occasions and a recent interview on CNN showed just how dumb he is, when he said that, "he had got a great deal for the American people by bringing down the cost of pharmaceuticals by 1500%".

As one pundit said, at that rate the pharmaceutical companies will be paying Americans to buy the pharmaceuticals!

Trump is the sharpest mind to be in the White House since Truman.

Nobody gets in the white house by being an idiot, unless they're a democrat, as Kamala and Biden proved.

No, you're posting baseless nonsense, the figure relates to jobs created. From  your own link:

"The U.S. only added 19,000 jobs in May compared to an initial report of 144,000, and only 14,000 in June after an initial report of 147,000, according to the BLS. Those two paltry totals, plus a July jobs gain of 73,000, means the U.S. added just 106,000 jobs over the past three months."

There are 33.2 MILLION businesses in the US. And they only created 14000 new jobs in June? Pull the other one. Nobody in their right mind believes this nonsense. Last year Apple alone hired 3000 new employees. Amazon hired even more, 3820.

How Presidential IQs Are Estimated

Researchers like Dr. Dean Keith Simonton (UC Davis) use a method called historiometry, which analyzes:

•  Academic achievements

•  Published writings and speeches

•  Decision-making complexity

•  Vocabulary and verbal fluency

•  Leadership traits and openness to experience

These factors are correlated with known IQ indicators to produce estimated scores, not actual test results

Trump didn't even make it into this table.....5555

The inflationary and depressive effects of tariffs will take some months to work their way into the statistics - but of course that won't matter as the little matter of  unfavourable statistics has been "sorted"!

It's fascinating how some people compare Trump to Hitler. I feel like that's definitely going a step too far as Trump has not engaged in genocide, yet. However if given a sufficient amount of unchecked power I certainly think he's capable of it, as he is a man of tremendous hatred, and division, and he is a racist, no doubt.

Also if one is a student of history one must take into account one of the ways the Third Reich was able to establish so much power, was the complete and utter denial of truth. Once a "so called leader" takes that step and engages in that kind of behavior all bets are off.
