Officials from The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), in coordination with the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) and local police, have raided a private company warehouse in Samut Prakan, seizing a large cache of advanced surveillance equipment.

Acting on intelligence reports, the authorities launched the operation on 5 August, suspecting the warehouse was being used to import and store sophisticated drone technologies and counter-drone systems.

During the raid, officials confiscated an extensive collection of high-value equipment, including 29 drones, 129 drone signal-jamming guns, 38 signal detection devices and a fully equipped mobile surveillance van capable of tracking and disrupting drone activity.

The company’s manager reportedly cooperated with authorities during the search. Initial investigations reveal the firm is legally registered and imports equipment from Singapore. Each piece of gear is believed to cost millions of baht, with the mobile surveillance vehicle alone valued at over 40 million baht. The company’s primary clients are said to be government agencies specialising in national security.

A source close to the investigation stated that while the business operations appear legal, authorities seized all items for further examination. The probe is now being expanded to determine whether the imported equipment poses any risks to national or international security.

Investigations are ongoing.
