It's not unstoppable, yet.

But it needs the main players to grow a pair in the next 5 years. After that, it's all over. The only consolation is that the lefties who enabled it will not be spared.

Well said.

This is the typical kind of reasoning of the left. It boils down to the fact that one must be tolerant and treat everyone equally. What these people fail to understand is that Muslims are not tolerant and have always been, are, and will always be in conquest mode. It's simply written in their centuries-old road map. Those who deny this and promote and encourage so-called integration in the name of their supposedly progressive thinking are initiating the downfall of our society. This is typical of left-wing think tanks worldwide. Kudos to this Spanish town.

Yes, "one must be tolerant and treat everyone equally" is one of the tenets of the far left. That belief is, in fact, the very foundation of socialism, being woke, and DEI.

I understand and do believe, as you do, that many Muslims are intolerant. Of course, so are many Jews and Christians. (I don't think this would apply to Buddhists... 😉 } So, again, all you are saying is that "we should be intolerant of intolerance." 😄 As I posted earlier, a typical, childish excuse for hitting someone is because "he hit me first!" 😞

This is often the excuse used by the right-wing: "He hit me first!" "It's okay for our Republican-majority state to gerrymander because the Democrats gerrymandered in their states." If hitting and gerrymandering are wrong, you shouldn't ever do it.

If it's wrong for Saudi Arabia or any Muslim country to ban Catholic churches, then it's wrong for a predominantly Christian country to ban Muslim temples or events.

I'm not a supporter of Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, or any religion or their activities. I would not oppose a ban on ALL of them. But what I do not support is singling one or two out and banning them, but not the others. That's discrimination and is definitely not in accordance with DEI, which I consider the best approach to eliminating, or at least reducing, discrimination.

The problem with Islam is that it discriminates against, inter-alia,  women, gays and non-muslims.

Yep for sure that will happen if the countries don't stop Islam from taking over and Ruling the countries , It's happening all over the world .

One of the requirements of Islam is to take over and convert the rest of the world. That was explained to me in the Middle East by a local who tried, and I may say failed, to convert me.

Totally agree! I couldn't have said it better myself.

Obviously not. The name clearly is Latin. In arabic it would be "Gumalla".

A quick Google search....

"The name "Jumilla" likely originates from the Arabic word "Šumāla", meaning "north", referring to the town's position relative to other Moorish settlements in the region. Over time, the name evolved through "Xumilla" to its current form, Jumilla. Some sources suggest an alternative origin in the Arabic "Šumiyya," meaning "high place," or "Sumailla," reflecting the town's elevated location.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

Arabic Origin:

The most widely accepted theory points to an Arabic root. The word "Šumāla" (شمالة) meaning "north" in Arabic is thought to be the origin of the name.

Evolution of the Name:

The name likely shifted from its Arabic form through stages like "Xumilla" before becoming the Jumilla we know today.

Alternative Theory:

Some sources propose that "Šumiyya" (meaning "high place") or "Sumailla" could also be related to the name, referencing the town's position on a plateau or elevated area.

Historical Context:

The name's Arabic origins are linked to the period of Moorish rule in the region, which significantly shaped the region's history and culture."

All wrong., goes to show how you can't trust AI.

The Roman author Pliny the Younger mentioned the settlement as Juncellus (after a local reed) in his chronicles. By the Middle Ages the name had become Jumilla or Jumyella. The Arabs called the city Gémina Aamlet or Geminalet (“Country of the Sons of Amlet”) until it was taken by Pedro I of Castile in the 14th century and repopulated.

555. No. You've got it back to front.

I search more than one source that came up with the Arabic connection.

I think I'll trust the Encyclopaedia Britannica over some AI from China, but thanks.

You are funny. You'd rather trust a source about wine regions rather than that from historians. 555

I'm sure the EU will try to cut off their funding if it continues.

Let's hope so. Then Spain can join Italy leaving the corrupt federalist project.

Congratulations, Jonny.

Even by your standards, it's impressive how you managed to weave your irrational anti-EU narrative into the discussion.

Sorry to disappoint you but neither Italy nor Spain will be leaving the EU anytime soon.

It's going to be wonderful watching the EU collapse over the next decade as old Liberals like you wave their little blue flags that represent absolutely nothing.  😀

The UK has given the rest of the EU an object lesson in self harm, the collapse of the EU isn’t going to happen Jonny.

How many Catholic Churches are there in Saudi Arabia? Zero. Not allowed.

Tit for tat.  They deserve a bit of their own discrimination.  Don't like it? Then go back to the land of Islam and celebrate all you want.

Did you get refused an EU grant for something? It's the only explanation that I can think of excessive abhorrence of the EU.

Anyway, keep your fingers crossed and your eyes tightly closed and wish really, really hard that the EU collapses and you never know your luck although as a betting man, I can't think of many worse wagers.
