Hanoi is gearing up for a grand parade around Hoan Kiem Lake, marking the upcoming "Festival for a Peaceful Capital." The event, orchestrated by the city's Department of Public Security, is set to bolster security as the nation anticipates the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day in 2025.

The rehearsal, held on Thursday, showcased diverse units of public security. Participants included the people’s security force, criminal investigation police, and traffic police, among others. This multifaceted force demonstrates the city's commitment to maintaining peace and order, reflecting a unified front in safeguarding Hanoi's future.

Central to the spectacle were impressive martial arts displays and simulations of police interventions, exemplifying readiness and skill in handling public disorder. The rehearsal not only highlighted tactical expertise but also the coordination between various departments, crucial for effective public safety strategies.

The official parade will take place on 10th August, encircling the iconic Statue of King Ly Thai To and Dinh Tien Hoang Street in Hoan Kiem Ward. With approximately 3,000 officers, soldiers, and local residents expected to participate, the event promises to be a vibrant display of community and solidarity.

Additionally, over 245 specialised motor vehicles will be mobilised. These vehicles, ranging from patrol cars to advanced tactical units, underscore the modern capabilities of Hanoi's security forces. The presence of such equipment reinforces an image of a progressive and robust police force, well-equipped to navigate the challenges of contemporary security needs.

This programme not only aims to bolster public confidence but also to promote the People's Public Security officers as a courageous and friendly entity. They are seen as both a "steel shield" and a "sharp sword," crucial in protecting the Party, the State, and the serene lives of its citizens.

In preparation for this significant event, Hanoi's authorities are focused on ensuring everything runs smoothly, with safety measures meticulously planned. This initiative reflects a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, showcasing the city's cultural pride and its forward-thinking outlook.

As anticipation builds, the “Festival for a Peaceful Capital” promises to encapsulate the essence of Hanoi — a city committed to its historical roots while steadfastly progressing into the future. Through this celebration, Hanoi not only pays homage to its storied past but also looks ahead with optimism and resilience, embodying the spirit of the nation's capital.
