So i'm not going to link statistics, and I don't really know what has been claimed is really true, but I know cheating on partners is endemic in Thailand moreso than other societies I have lived in which correlates with data presented online. Statistically at least 50% of you guys reading this article who have a relationship in Thailand are being cheated on. 

 

I will not pretend to really understand female psychology, for me it seems simple: find the best guy you can with the best genetics, wealth and just settle down and life happily ever after. That seems to be too logical for many females who let their emotions override them. Especially Thai females. A lot of you guys will be bamboozled when you find out your woman is cheating with a broke 60kg Thai boy who drives his motorbike like a maniac and who many of you will look down on, or an English bum missing multiple teeth who is living day to day but has a glint in his eyes and his main pastime is intoxicating himself. Why many women are attracted to these guys who are considered losers I don't understand, but it's reality.

 

Many of you guys need to be honest about what type of relationship you're in. You may think because you're financing a woman, you have life together, or giving promise that you're willing to finance a woman in the future that you have a woman who is going to be dedicated to you, see you as the desirable one, and is some cases for the ones who actually know to pick a woman who has real attraction for you, then yes that can certainly work. However, many of you will be financing a woman who is with the characters I mentioned in the last paragraph, and they will not pay any of her bills, they probably don't even treat her well. Hell, she may even be spending money on them. Maybe your money..

You sound a very disappointed person. You are not going to link any statistics because all is in your mind. Time might help you, or seek professional help.

Every guy in the world is cheated on.

It's what women are genetically programmed to do.

 

Some guys understand and accept.

Some guys don't understand or deny what's happening.

Your ltr/wife/life partner will be cheating on you.

 

The upside

You get to sample many more women.

The romantic aspect of love seems to be deficient here. Sex is viewed more like a biological function, from what I can see. I don't think many Thai's really view it as cheating.

 

The romantic connection seems to be a lot less as well. It could just be under the surface, but I don't think so in many cases. I do still see it in some young couples. That may contribute to the cheating because that strong connection is not there that views the partner as the one and only with everything directed to them to the exclusion of other partners.

 

Thai's can't exclude other people well, they need other people around constantly. If there is nobody around they make a lot of noise, play music all day, things like that. Even the monks kind of need a group and find solitary practice difficult.

I have always thought that the impact of 'the church' on Western attitudes to sex have (had?) a huge impact, even on atheists.....sex is disgusting, dirty, dangerous, sinful.

 

Who wouldn't be put off by that message?

 

At least in Buddhism, sex isn't viewed as inherently sinful, whereas in the West sex outside of marriage almost certainly leads to a life time of agony as you burn in hell.
