Police are hunting a gunman who, dressed as a delivery rider, stormed a gold shop in a Bang Bo, Samut Prakan, shopping mall on the afternoon of 14 August and made off with more than 60 baht-weight of gold.

The robbery occurred at around 14:00. CCTV footage shows a tall, well-built suspect wearing a full-face motorcycle helmet, a delivery rider’s uniform and a side bag walking directly into the shop. Brandishing a handgun, he ordered staff to hand over gold necklaces and bracelets, warning them not to resist.

The stolen items included several 3-baht and 5-baht-weight gold bracelets and necklaces. After grabbing the loot, the man ran outside to his motorcycle and sped away from the scene.

Security guard Chatchai, who was on duty, said he had tried to ask the man to remove his helmet upon entering the mall, but the suspect ignored him and headed straight for the gold shop. “He went in quickly, pulled out a gun and started threatening staff,” he said.

A male shop employee added: “The man climbed over the counter and told us to hand over the gold. I told my female colleague to duck down for safety and stepped back when I saw the gun. I’ve never seen him before.”

Police forensic teams and officers from Bang Bo Police Station, along with the provincial police commander, attended the scene. Investigations are ongoing as authorities work to track down the suspect and bring him to justice.

Well at least his uniform was very appropriate:-

A gold shop in Samut Prakan was robbed of gold worth over 8 million baht. In the footage, the thief was wearing a Grab uniform and a motorcycle helmet. He rushed to the front, threatened the staff with a gun, and demanded gold.5 hours ago (Google)

Why don't they have better security in the gold shops?  It'sd like they are begging to be robbed!

They used to pay for a Police officer to stand guard at gold and jewellery shops in malls.

Never see them anymore.

Not paying enough?

Now lets see if this guy can get away with the crime. Cameras everywhere, we'll see.

...A male shop employee added: ... “I’ve never seen him before.”... (?)

...Did This Guy Just Betray Himself With This Statement... (?)

...(As He Instructed The Female Employee 'To Comply')...

...Strange... (?)
