A mother, father and their young daughter have died after a pickup truck ran a red light and collided with their motorcycle at an intersection in Phanom Sarakham district, Chachoengsao, on the 14 August.

Police said the crash occurred at around 06.15 at the Phanom Sarakham traffic lights. Investigators from Phanom Sarakham Police Station, along with rescue workers, arrived to find a motorcycle torn apart from the force of the impact and the victims thrown some distance from the point of impact.

The rider, identified as 27-year-old Ms Orauma was found dead at the scene. Her husband, Mr Anon, 35 and their four-year-old daughter, Miss Kanyaree, were rushed to hospital with critical injuries but both later died.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash, confirming from CCTV that the pickup truck involved drove through a red light before striking the motorcycle. Charges of causing death from reckless driving, will be filed against the driver.

I go through those traffic lights regularly. They can take a long time to change, and I have seen many run the red light.
