The Royal Thai Army has received three fully equipped ambulances, including portable helicopter-compatible ventilators, to enhance medical capacity at field hospitals along the Thai-Cambodian border before they are later transferred to army hospitals in the Northeast.

At 09.00 on 15 August, General Pana Klaoplodtook, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Army, together with Assistant Commander-in-Chief General Chisanupong Rodsiri, Army Medical Department Director General Lieutenant General Kriangkrai Prasongsukan, Second Army Area Commander Lieutenant General Boonsin Padklang and other senior officers, attended the handover ceremony at Army Headquarters.

The donation, valued at 10,150,000 baht, came from a private company and comprised two Basic Life Support ambulances and one Advanced Life Support ambulance, each fitted with a portable helicopter-compatible ventilator.

The vehicles and equipment aim to improve access to safe, standardised medical services and provide modern medical tools to meet the growing demand for patient care. Ultimately, they are intended for three army hospitals, Sripatcharin Hospital in Khon Kaen, Sunpasitthiprasong Hospital in Ubon Ratchathani and Kritsivara Hospital in Sakon Nakhon.

However, given the current Thai–Cambodian border situation, the Army Medical Department has decided to deploy the ambulances first to field hospitals: Field Hospital (Detached Unit 1) in Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani, Field Hospital (Detached Unit 2) in Kantharalak District, Si Sa Ket and Field Hospital 3 in Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin. The vehicles will remain there until the situation eases, after which they will be handed over to the designated army hospitals.
