Vietnam Airlines is gearing up for the upcoming National Day travel period by substantially increasing its seat availability. The airline plans to add over 100,000 seats, bringing the total to an impressive 600,000 across nearly 2,900 flights between 29 August and 3 September.

This substantial increase marks a significant rise from last year's capacity during the same period. Domestically, Vietnam Airlines is enhancing frequency on key routes linking Hanoi with major cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Cam Ranh, Da Lat, and Hue. This boost results in nearly 418,000 seats on over 2,100 flights, a year-on-year increase of 30 percent.

The airline is also expanding its international capacity, focusing on connections between Vietnam and countries like India, China, Thailand, and Australia. With nearly 177,000 seats available on more than 760 international flights, there's an 18 percent rise compared to last year.

In a bid to attract more passengers, Vietnam Airlines is offering e-vouchers for those booking tickets on 19 August, 1 September, and 2 September. Travellers purchasing Premium Economy tickets will receive a voucher worth 11.04 USD, while those buying Flexible Economy tickets will receive 198,000 VND (approximately 265 Thai Baht).

These e-vouchers can be redeemed for tickets issued between 19 August and 30 November, with travel valid from 19 August 2025 to 28 February 2026, covering all domestic routes.

The increased capacity reflects the airline's confidence in a resurgence of both domestic and international travel as the post-pandemic recovery continues. This move is expected to cater to the anticipated demand surge during the National Day festivities, providing passengers with more options and flexibility.

By strategically enhancing its flight offerings, Vietnam Airlines is not only addressing the festive travel rush but also reinforcing its position in the competitive airline industry in Southeast Asia. As more travellers take to the skies, Vietnam Airlines is poised to capture a significant share of the increased traffic.
