Visa Exemption for 60+ days to a Non-O for 90 days

Featured Replies

Planning on arriving from the USA sometime in October and have acquired a Non-O visa for 90 days. I would like to enter Visa exempt status for 60 days with a possibility to extend for 30 days and leave Thailand and reenter with my Non-O, is that possible or would the immigration have my Non-O on file at BKK?

That simply isn't possible.

The Non O is only valid to enter Thailand for 90 days from the date of issue, meaning if you obtained it in August, it will expire in November.

You could enter using the Non O and on entry you will be granted permission of stay for 90 days. Enter Oct, permitted to stay until Jan.
Then do a border hop for a VE entry, 60 days + 30 day extension, which would take you to April 2026.

How long do you intend to stay?

The most you can do is ask for them to not use your visa.  But it will be in their computer, and any report I've seen of people who asked were always rejected and stamped in on the visa.  Even seen reports of people that didn't give the visa to the officer and just handed over their passport, and the officer found the visa in the computer and stamped them in on it.

Thank you both, looks like I will have to use the "Non-O" on entry since the visa will be in the BKK immigration computer and I do not want any issues. Trying to stay around 180 days with no problems. Thanks again.
