Are you aware of any cases of Canadians or Norwegians, whose embassies have only recently ceased their income confirmation services, being shown any leniency by IMM on account of not being able to show evidence of 12 months' transfers during the first year?

No, but in the case of Norwegians their embassy plans to phase the service out over the forthcoming year, allowing citizens to find alternative methods of meeting the financial requirements. Canadians not so fortunate, I only know one, but he transferred 800K in preparation for his next extension application.

And your evidence for this sweeping assertion is .......?????

Didn't you bother to read the police order. Quite clearly states exception applies to new arrivals.

Of course you are free to believe that a long term expat could claim to be a new arrival, and be believed.

The poster you replied to muddied the waters when he replied to this point

"There was an exception in the text of 0029.173/Wor 4950."

As far as the exception is concerned "leniency" doesn't come into it, but he tried to use that to make an argument and referred to people on extensions.

The exception is addressing those who have just arrived in Thailand for the first time and quite obviously unable to have made 12 monthly transactions.

Anyone already on an extension that has come up for renewal is not in the same position.

Why are you steadfastly refusing to provide a link to the particular police order I'm supposed to be bothered reading? There are quite a few of 'em knocking about, you know!

The police order No has been posted at various points along with the text, look under posted images.

A previous reply I made to you.
