I've browsed a few Thai dating apps this past week. Most seem like they are full of prostitutes, ladyboys, those seeking to scam money, and what not. Not legit women looking for love. 

 

Anyone here gone down the dating route using these apps that were not prostitutes and you had some success?

There's a blurry line here. Well-off/hi-so/well-educated Thai women are not on dating apps, they operate in their own Thai social circles and are 99% not interested in farangs.

 

Middle/lower income Thai women with a job might be open to a long-term relationship with a farang - "the legit woman looking for love" deal. But at the same time many will be amenable to a "date" with a guy which has no long-term prospects but ends with her receiving a "token of appreciation". She will not consider this prostitution but that she is being rewarded for her desirability. 

 

Think of it what you will but we are, thank the Lord, not in a puritanical (hypocritical) culture. Personally, I find this refreshing and liberating. A guy doesn't have to lie through his teeth and a gal doesn't have to pretend she's what she's not when they both want the same physical intimacy without commitment.

 

Bottom line if I may answer your question: Are dating apps full of prostitutes or legit woman looking for love? Both and the same gals/lbs both categories.

Yes plenty of success. There's about 40% sex workers on TF but it's not the same on all apps. 

 

The ladyboy scourge is a real problem though, as they fraudulently label themselves as women and edit the photos.

A "legit woman" does not accept money,  they are very clear about it and they draw a very clear line between themselves and those women that accept money for sęx.

And yes, these women can be found in dating apps. But not in Pattaya/Phuket/Samui and not if you are 40 years older than her and 3 times her weight.

If they have photos in office type situations ask them about their job etc

If they have photos posing in front of the Pattaya sign etc, they are whores.

 

And just say in the description that you are not interested in meeting womenwithjobs outside the nightlife industry.

Not used these in so long in Thailand but back when they were not all messed up met a 19-year-old and in bed same-day....beats UK dating right now anyday....UK dating is the pits - can't wait to leave...

I know a girl who makes about 100,000 monthly.  Her American boyfriend lives off her. When he needed a heart operation, she got the bank loan of 1m to pay for it - he was "self-insured" i.e. not insured. 

 

Another girl I know pays for her German guy. Yes, they have been married for 20 or 30 years - she is the breadwinner.

A lot of them are prostitutes.

You just have to filter out ladyboys and hookers.

Form 709 gift tax return. They just started to allow it to be electronically submitted in 2025 though.

Think of it what you will but we are, thank the Lord, not in a puritanical (hypocritical) culture. Personally, I find this refreshing and liberating. not in my experience, i've dated a lawyer, a hospital director, physiotherapist,  marketing exec, designer for a leading japanese vehicle brand, to name but a few. my latest tinder gf had seven successful businesses, nine properties, and (i don't know why) 4 cars. 

 

if you get out of the sex worker and bar scene there's an amazing thailand to discover.

A girl near here, 23, makes +/-300,000 a month. Mainly does 3-4 short times each afternoon and evening from guys online at 3,000 a go. Does the odd overnight with guys that fly in to Thailand for 2 weeks or so at 10k a night or 100k per week. Puts most into property and will be a retired USD millionaire by 30.
