Yes a single Father of 3 and very happy. You only have to listen to people when you are sat in restaurants, on the MRT or anywhere where foreigners are about....and hear what Thais say about them, its shocking actually, very derogative and I think quite funny....but unless you can speak coloquial Thai, you won't understand...are you one of the "mine is different" crowd 😁

Wonderful for you that you live your life for people you will never know, but I guess I couldn't care less what other people think of my life choices. Thais might gossip about me using colloquial language I cannot understand? That impacts my life pleasure how? I guess if I was insecure and needed the validation of outsiders, it might hurt, but I don't, so it wouldn't.

 

I don't have a Thai wife, but if I happened to fall in love with a woman who worked or works in the industry, the only thing I would care about is how we get along together.  The opinions of fat old grumpy foreigners are of no importance, nor are the comments of Thai people who think everyone in the world cares about "face". All of those people, as well as myself and any woman I choose to spend time with, are going to be dust in 50-80 years and gone forever from existence, so the ONLY thing that matters is how my chosen partner and I enjoyed this all too brief life.

 

What a waste of your single existence to worry about what meaningless outsiders think about you or gossip about you behind your back! Maybe you should try living for yourself and your loved ones, rather than people who will forget you exist two seconds after you're out of their line of sight.

 

Now to get to the OP's question....whatever I think about a mixed couple should not be of any concern to the couple. Maybe that thought would pop into my head, but that only affects me. Good for them if they are getting what they want, as they pass from cradle to grave/urn.

Fair play to you there, bringing up 3 kids, absent mother, must have been difficult. I do speak colloquial Thai, I found that Thais are more interested in their phones on public transport, or in a restaurant more interested in their food to worry about what some foreigner is up to. Also if any comments were in earshot of my wife, she would rip them another arseho!e.

I know for sure that is how Thai's think

No matter what they are from before, some manage to provide to a good life for both, and not only materialistic and comfortable life, but on the emotionally level to. 

 

Can only speak for myself and my own experiences, but we do meet couples around Thailand who seems to have a good life together with care and love for each other. 

 

Anyway, obviously not everyone experiences long term healthy relationships, so understandable they are stuck in bar and prostitution lifestyle and still looking for the next kick 🦵 or chick that will move their world

MalcolmB do you shop at Mega?  I'm (69) often go there with my Daughter (27) and two grandchildren 5&6 and thought I saw you one time.  I remember thinking what's going through that guys mind? now I know 55.

I have to admit I do the same, mainly clocking age gaps in shopping centres, it's all part of the shopping experience.
