Nine people were injured on the morning of 29 August, when a tour bus carrying more than 30 passengers overturned on a highway in Pho Chai district, Roi Et province.

The incident occurred at approximately 05.30 near Phu Kum Khao temple in Kampha-ung sub-district. Emergency services, including local police and rescue volunteers, attended the scene to find the bus lying on its side in the central reservation. Passengers were given first aid at the scene before being transported to Pho Chai Hospital for further treatment.

The driver, 33-year-old Mr. Saranayu, admitted to briefly falling asleep at the wheel after departing a rest stop in Mukdahan province. He said he awoke to find the bus veering off the carriageway and attempted to regain control, but the vehicle ultimately overturned. Fortunately, the bus had been travelling at a  moderate speed and injuries were reported as minor.

The tour bus had picked up passengers in Nakhon Phanom and was en route along the Kalasin–Mukdahan highway. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident and have recorded the scene for official documentation.

Police emphasised the importance of driver alertness on long journeys, particularly for vehicles carrying large numbers of passengers.

My God...they are all over this problem like a rash.

Haven't people noticed that Thai people when they have nothing else to do can't get horizontal quick enough. My wife is like an owl, as she does jack <deleted> except sleeps every day and bitches because she can't sleep at night. I was taught  you work for 8 hours, relax for 8 hours and sleep for 8 hours. I've stuck  to what my parents taught me and even though I'm 80 years old now  I've never woken up tired in my entire lifetime.

An honest bus driver for once.

Great timing. We're looking for a new Prime Minister.

He should had another 10 minutes rest before continuing the drive.
