If people are smoking in public breaking the laws or in restaurants then the necessary action should be taken.

No one here is defending that.

Well, the same goes for drinking alcohol in d desinated areas where it is legal.

To many tokers smokes ganja in public, and that's the problem you guys face in Thailand if you missed the point!

I see lack of responsibility and admitting it is a problem in Thailand!

Is there a problem when smokers lit a joint in public? Yes or no?

Read my other comment. Smoking in public isn't the problem. Lack of enforcement by thai authorities is.

Thank you, and that's why they wanted to reverse everything, right?

Most likely the tendencies already exist in those individuals. Then weed is used as the scapegoat to point blame.

Alcohol can bring up repressed anger. That's why there is so much violence when people get drunk. Not always.

I experienced paranoia when I smoked weed. So does weed also bring up stuff repressed in people's psyche like alcohol does, only different repressed things? Instead of repressed anger, repressed paranoia or in this case repressed suicidal thoughts? Obviously it wouldn't apply to everyone ... but still if the weed triggers that in some people it shouldn't be dismissed.

In other words, maybe weed is relatively harmless and benign for many people, but can cause problems for some people.

No.

A big part of that might have been due to the kind of terpenes in the weed you smoked.

No matter what, comparison to alcohol being as stupid as the whole weed debate where you guys take no responsibility

Now that's an interesting take on a topic you started. Post a poll and then argue that people replying are stupid. Seems you should look in the mirror if its stupidity you're looking for.

It was clear from the beginning this wouldn't last long, and here we are

The elephant in the room is your ignorance in posting a poll and topic and then calling those that reply that arent in agreement with you stupid.

Who's rights are we talking about?

50% are happy how the decriminalization and the imaginary legalization went?

That should say something about those who celebrated the potential of what was going to happen, but instead everyone forget what was on the stake at once the legal shops and availability became reality.

After all Thai do not want it, and didn't want it before it happened

Again the Thais in general do not want it, it is their country, and the weed tourism is out of hand.

And imagine Koh Phangan which is famous for drug use and parties, is the Island where normal tourists do not even notice the weed smoking going on, because they have actually a large expat community who know how to preserve their rights and also do have an self justice to pleas the authorities.

Also the most hardcore parties are at designated areas and do not disturb locals or tourists who do not want to be part of that.

I dont know anyone who has ever got drunk that natural way.

Do you ?

However every drunk person I have ever seen has become intoxicated by alcohol that had been processed.

Whereas weed grown naturally can be brought anywhere and is still natural. Weed has been around for thousands of years. Long before the 60s. I think you're talking about other drugs causing an epidemic.

What a silly comparison.

What you missed, is the discovery of fermented fruit and how to make alchohol by the natural way, and been cultivated as long as there have been humans.

The drinking culture among most countries is more established than any weed culture. You cant imagine to change that because you and yours thinks that is an better alternative than alchohol, and most who smokes, also drink alchohol occasionally.

I didnt miss anything. I literally talked about fermentation in the comment you are replying to.

Also stop telling me what I think is a better alternative. No where have I stated that.

You're hate is consuming you.

My hate for what?

If I found weed beneficial for me, I would had used it, but I do not, but it is nice to have it as an option if I once would like to use it, and that’s where you and everyone else miss out!

I would even like to have a dose of Cocain, mdma or ketamin  if it was available and produced and distributed legally, Im not against drugs or anything that can make life better. Im concerned about the stupidity that comes with it and disturbing other people, and that’s where you guys are ignorant

This guy thinks weed should be the most socially acceptable drug.

Why do you keep changing the conversation.

You posted a poll and wanted input and then start calling people stupid because they have a different view than you. That why I asked you why you bothered posting?

I never mentioned rights, legalization or any other issue. A large number of Thais have wanted legalization for quite some time but that wasn't the issue thats your deflecting from the question you were asked.

Ok.

Should be restricted to medical use and palliative care.

As far as alcohol is concerned they should ban drinks containing more than 15% and increase somewhat the price of beer.

Nice try, if you bothered to read through the same arguments and lack of understanding why cannabis again facing restrictions, you would also understand what I am calling the idiocy of lack of understanding why

Again your avoiding the question you've been asked, apparently because you cant. Good bye

A friend of mine in high school, a genius got addicted to weed. He slowly wasted away and fell into a deep depression. One night he took his fathers 12 gauge shotgun into his bedroom and put it in his mouth and pulled the trigger. The diagnosis at his death was that he was very high on ganja. I have never touched weed since then and realize the dangers attributed to ganja.

Most people are born with a sense of common sense, and among weed smokers, not so much.

It is just about common sense, nothing else

What is your personal story with weed, Hummin?

Are you an ex-smoker? Why did you stop?

Do you smoke every day but insist you're not an addict?

Back in college I smoke almost every day when it was around.  If it wasn't around, I didn't smoke.  So much for the addiction trope.  Cannabis isn't addictive.

What is up with @Hummin?

Seems to be of the belief that the talk of recriminalisation had something to do with some people smoking in public...

Someone should tell him that it likely had nothing at all to do with that.

Even so...slightly concerning behaviour.
