Why can't you just install it yourself?

I did and it informed me there was a problem with my birthday and nationality. Went into Krungsri the next morning and informed me the problem was that I was over 70.

The OP may wish to be aware that that's the relatively easy bit in the case of the Bangkok Bank app, to which he has also referred. Getting the bloody thing to work, however, is another matter altogether, as is evident from the following thread:

They clearly think that at 70 you're kids should be looking after you and doing absolutely everything for you.  In their weird "look after our old parents mindset" grandpa at 70 has no need for a bank account.

Your.  I hate it when I see spelling errors I've made in my haste to type out a message!

Apparently due to elderly Thais being scammed, farang are just as bad, cash is king people who hate tech

Anyone can get scammed as I am sure you know. You have to be aware of any messages you get.

I stay away from the bank apps I consider them to be too invasive. Why does a bank want access to your photos, emails, contacts etc?

Don't be ridiculous, you can deny these if you are so worried. I find bank apps essential in my daily life. I have 3 apps. Bangkok Bank to receive money from the UK. SCB to pay my direct debits and Krunsri for my extension of stay based on retirement.

It is a pity you are not particularly tech savvy as you would not make such crass comments.

It's a shame you make assumptions about someone you know nothing about. I am fully up to date technically thank you. I assume based on your comments that you prefer a telephone ☎️ with a dial.

Make sure this online Internet Business Banking app will not be terminated in October. Their regular online Internet Banking app will be, but their phone app will continue. At least that's my understanding.

Business Internet Banking is separate

The assertion made is ridiculous. You do not have the option to not accept the issues I am referring to. It is a pity that so many people use apps without actually understanding what information they are agreeing to being taken by the app company. Then when things go wrong they blame everyone except themselves.

How on earth does one go about receiving money from the UK through the BBL app? I can get by perfectly fine doing this without the need for any "assistance" from this lousy app, thanks to Wise!

And this IMHO begs the general question as to why business accounts are considered by the Thai banking fraternity to remain suited to internet banking, whereas personal accounts (with the possible exception of Krungsri) are not. If fraud is the principal reason lying behind the seemingly relentless drive to ram lousy banking apps down the throats of personal account holders through the exclusive provision of mobile banking services, how come it has never dawned on those regulatory "geniuses" in the Bank of Thailand (or wherever) that losses to banks arising from corporate fraud are likely to be considerably greater than those arising from fraud perpetrated collectively by your typical man (or woman) in the street?

I thought it would be obvious. A Wise transfer to my Bangkok Bank Account.

You don't need the app to do that, and if you deny the permissions as you suggested upthread the app will either deny your use altogether or disable key features.

Absolutely!
