I guess you would also suggest that major Caucasian nations should colonize Thailand, because so many rural Thais, especially in Isaan, live the way folks in the UK, US or Australia did a hundred years ago. Dirt floors, poor sewerage, extremely basic electrical grid that's often ungrounded, poor healthcare relative to Bangkok or the West, lots of kids with scabies, even sepsis from infections gone bad…..shouldn’t whitey come in and make it all right? Of course, material comfort is only one part of existence. There is also spiritual and moral comfort. Some years ago a relative was touring in "the outback". They came across an Aboriginal man sitting in a patch of shade looking at some tyre tracks in the dust. The tour guide used it as an opportunity to demonstrate these skills.

It always seems that talk of unity and collaboration only comes after white people like yourself have already colonized, extracted, and profited at the expense of people of color. Only once the damage is done do you suddenly want to work together.
