Reparations for my European brothers and sisters

It always seems that talk of unity and collaboration only comes after white people like yourself have already colonized, extracted, and profited at the expense of people of color. Only once the damage is done do you suddenly want to work together.

Are you black by any chance? Sorry, I did not mean to offend you. Nothing against colored people, but I have against people who can´t see a solution because of history. You seen to be one of them. No love scams I hope. 😉

We must confront and acknowledge the historical oppression of Aboriginal people by colonial powers. It is crucial that reparations are made to Aboriginal communities as a step towards rectifying the injustices of the past. Moreover, we have much to learn from Indigenous cultures, and it is vital that we approach their perspectives with respect and understanding, free from a Western bias. Failing to do so not only undermines their experiences but also reinforces systemic racism. Embracing Indigenous wisdom enriches our society and paves the way for a more equitable future.

They have had tens of millions over the years from the 'oppressors'. What indigenous wisdom have they got? 40k years and all they came up with was a bent stick, the didgeridoo and some child like wall paintings. Even crop planting was beyond them, unless you want to believe the lies of pretendians like Pascoe

Kooris are less than 4% of Australia's population.

They get $4.5 billion in welfare specifically directed at the "indigenous" population. That's over and above the social welfare they also get as Australians.

i suggest you visit places such as Wilcannia, Murrum Bridge, Fitzroy Crossing and Bourke to see what happens to that money.

Or Google Geoff Clark, he's a peach.

It's a guilt industry, which I refuse to buy into.

It's Koorri.

The Barbary pirates from the North African countries captured and sold  millions of European slaves 16th-19th century.

Why isn't this part of our children's history lessons and when can we begin discussing reparations.

The Muslim countries of North Africa should settle up.

Are you having an awokening?

Oh... every time I publicly acknowledge the misdeeds and malpractices of my forebears, I feel so invigorated, enlivened and free.

When you took their pic, were they expecting some money.

No, they scowled and some shouted angrily as they scrabbled around for a rock, or a spear...or something to throw.

And how does this affect you? Do they create the same discomfort and annoyance as those that use visa agents here, or are they in a totally different league of deep personal perturbation?

Perhaps, but...black slaves sold to them by African and Arab slave traders.  Without the African and Arab slave traders there'd be no black slaves to be "brokered".

Don't know what to think of that Netflix show on hurricane Katarina and various other official probe reports on how it was handled any why it happened.

It clearly established that the devastated areas,  were victims of years of neglect in the funding of proper infrastructures to withhold any potential flooding or rise of waters. The upper areas of New Orleans, the financial hubs were thus all preserved during Katarina. It was mainly the black neighbourhoods that suffered, due to years of lacking proper infrastructure to withhold water rise.

Call it what you wish...

And yes, this did not happen in the 18th century...

And if dark-skinned people hadn't procreated, there wouldn't have been any of them to be enslaved by African and Arab slave traders.

Does that pose an issue for you?

Maybe I have to explain better. As I wrote, color is not an issue. Stupidity is! Was that clear enough?

One last thing before this thread spirals into the dirt

You are posting this OP, because you read or watched some MAGA podcaster or vid guy, who happened to read Giles Milton’s White Gold, but, they don’t care about Muslims jihads or slavery & neither do you. They wrote it up, as reparations is a current dog whistle for righties.

This was & is taught in US schools, BTW. The Barbary Wars is why the US built a Navy. Why you have High Schools and a city named Decatur (for Stephan Decatur). If the US does not ransom them, or fight, then the US sailors end up in slavery. And that was likely it,  because most history in US schools,  is about the US, not about the internal economies of Muslim empires, fascinating as that might be. if you didn't study this, or don't remember, then you were in some private religious school with a substandard curriculum, or stoned in the back of the class.

Successive governments in Australia have been throwing money at the problem for decades.

The posters with rose-colored glasses don't realize Kooris are among the most violent cultures on the planet, and access to alcohol only exacerbates the situation.

The homicide rate of Koori women from domestic violence is 7-10 times that of the rest of the Australian population, and they are 33 times more likely to be hospitalized as a result of family violence.

Are those figures referring to their own ethnicity men?

You guys are both funny. I started this thread as a fun thing because black slavery is always discussed but white slavery isn't.

It goes without saying that reparations for either blacks or whites is a non issue,

You've both been had 55555

Looks like it. But the point is that there were several guilty parties and it was not all one-way traffic, mostly.
