A cement mixer truck collided with the rear of a stationary 18-wheel truck on the morning of 2 September, in Sriracha district, resulting in the death of the mixer driver.

The incident occurred at around 11:00 on the Nong Kwae–Bo Win road, near Moo 5, Bo Win Subdistrict. Police from Bo Win Police Station, along with rescue personnel from Pure Yeeang Tai Sriracha, responded to the crash.

Authorities found the white 18-wheel container truck, parked on the roadside with rear-end damage. The cement mixer had struck the van with considerable force, leaving the driver, Mr Thanwa, 39, from Takiantee Subdistrict, Bang Lamung district, trapped inside. He suffered fatal chest injuries, multiple fractures to his limbs and severe facial lacerations and was pronounced dead after being extracted from the vehicle.

Rescue teams used hydraulic cutters to extricate Mr Thanwa from the vehicle, a process that took approximately 30 minutes. The driver of the container van, Mr Anupong 27, remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

During preliminary questioning, Mr Anupong stated that his vehicle had broken down and was parked at the roadside when the cement mixer struck the rear. Police have taken him in for further investigation to confirm the exact cause of the crash.

The body of the deceased has been transferred to Laem Chabang Hospital.

Daytime, good weather..... , on the phone texting I'd say.

Oh well he won't do that again.

Phone users are the most dangerous people on our roads.

Again, just smashing into a stationary vehicle. That´s dumb!

I watched a cement mixer driver turning off Suk into Tai yesterday; he had his window down, leaning nonchalantly out of his cab, steering with only his left hand.  Lower down Tai, a couple of police were gleefully confiscating an illegally parked car.

There is a German who posts videos on YT under the name “strassenthailands” concerning all such accidents.
Now, believe me, your jaws drop open in amazement when you see what terrible drivers there are here.
More than once you see accidents with fatalities where the perpetrator just drives on without stopping.
Criminal behavior.

Still can't believe that I saw this.

A petrol tanker driver steering with his knees, cigarette in his mouth, trying to open a can which looked like a can of Chang.

I always recall driving in the USA and seeing a woman in the adjacent car using two hands to eat her breakfast and steering with her knees. That was before cellphones became a big thing. Putting on makeup is a well known job driving to work.  Women seem to need to have their phones in hand driving a motorcycle here, many men too.

And understood traffic laws
