As Jordan Peterson points out, we need something TO DO. We need to be engaged in something. That's why you don't see Donald Trump retiring, even with billions.    So 300 million is

  • I would give it to elon in exchange for living on another planet

  • So the private jet - 60 million, the yacht - 40 million, real estate portfolio 50 million, helicopter 10 million.   So that's 160 million gone already.    A mere 240 million left.

I guess one could do the Pizza thing now. Such a nice idea.

They key in charity is direct benefit without middlemen making their money.

Can you imagine being rich enough to go to say Chicago and buy new equipment for an entire Little League?

Plus when you are a lottery winner you can use your status to get lots of money from others. Hey Shaq, its me, lets build an Indoor basketball facility in Detroit and set up leagues and stuff, call your buds, I got a million here, how bout you.

I would buy a Minigun too. Ammo would be expensive but so what.

Yes, that's almost better than a 100 million USD yacht.

34 mililon for a compound in Colorado.

Over 200 million gone an you hardly bought anything.

Boats are a hole in the water you throw money into. I dont need to impress anyone, besides, Bezos old lady is a 50 year old plastic bimbo, I got a dozen half her age. And have you seen the butt on Ronaldos old lady?

And folks in Modulkiri put Red Fanta in front of my picture hahahahaha

Yes, still, cruising the oceans is very appealing as well.

Oddly enough, the problem is not buying stuff for yourself. It's pressure from other people.

That's a good point.

You'd have to take care of mum, daughters, ex-wife, 5 girlfriends, 10 new girlfriends, the girlfriend's father, mother, sister etc...some friends...

It would be exhausting.

Google AI, hahahahahahaha

The cost of a private army varies significantly, with some estimates for a 1,000-person mercenary force suggesting around $60 million for the first year and $30 million annually thereafter. Costs depend on factors like personnel experience, the need for equipment and facilities, and potential additional expenses such as insurance, licenses, and legal setup for a private military company (PMC).

That's sad. So a private army would bankrupt you within 10 years or less. Unless you put the capital to work successfully.

Israel, you got lucky....

That would be the downside, wouldn't it? You'd be well known, and can't go anywhere anymore, you'd need protection, from the hoards of people who want to rip your clothes off.

It must be awful to be really famous.

You can collect Powerball anonymously.

As far a new friends, I can only think of about 15 to give money to, aside from wife's 7 siblings.  Out of TH, so no threat from TH.   Incognito in USA, as wouldn't tell anyone about winning.  Way less than 50M spent on me, family & friends.   We're all 60s plus, and don't really need anything as it is.

Being a bit anti-social, doesn't allot much to share with others.

Really wouldn't know what to do with that much money, except give a majority portion to the 2 charities (hospitals) I mentioned earlier.   Along with a bunch of other, centered around care for children and their families.

It would take 20 years, to spend only $7.3M @ $1000 a day.  Let that one sink in.

Yes, I know, but when you started paying people's hospital bills,  showing up with free pizza, I reckon the word would spread rather fast.

Hard to keep that secret. If you buy all these things, like yacht, private jet, real estate, etc.

I would rather stay anonymous, but I think if you really spend the money, it'll be hard to do.

Why would you be showing up, that sounds like work.  Just do it anonymously.

I don't want do anything or be anywhere at any time or place now, as schedules and appointment don't belong in my world.   Imm once a year is enough for me, or making a transfer at the bank to wife's account, every four months to avoid filing FBAR.  Three months if a better exchange rate 🙄

I take being a LPOS very serious :coffee1:

Nah dude, you wear a bag over your head on public appearances. Go for an emergency name change and sue anybody who posts about you for invasion of privacy.

You would definitely need a good tax adviser

So, the Jackpot is at 1.4 billion USD. And yes, you can play from Thailand legally, not via black market lotteries but with one legit website.

However, you will win a measly 400 million USD due to state taxes, still, worth a flutter!

How would you spend 400 million USD?

According to the Department of Social Security, I have 22 years left to live. This gives me a budget of 18 million per year if not invested. I would definitely enjoy that.

I'd start with a condo in Singapore.

A condo in Singapore is  a must obviously. Our main travel hub here, best airport in the world. I wonder what other cities in Asia would be top choices for real estate, a place in Vietnam, Hoi An maybe, and Bali.

Probably the best place to stick the money also.

My expiration date was 4 yrs ago @ 66.7.   Although, IF you made to that, healthy, then a possible 13 more years, given todays medical advancements.  Gives me about 10 more years.

$1B / 10 yrs = $100M per year = $273.9k a day :cheesy:

Unlimited medical care increases the lifespan of men born in the 1950s from 74 to a massive 75, so hardly worthwhile.

I think I would put most in an account in the Cayman Islands. Yes, then some in Singapore as well.

Come to think of it, I would spend some time in the Caribbean, in the winter obviously, outside hurricane season. Simply because the beaches in the Caribbean are by far the best.

I'm not a huge beach guy though, so a month would probably do it.

I'd spend as much time as possible in the Caribbean, as that was my playground for 13 yrs, when I worked for the one airlines (NWA), and the best diving;  Cozumel, Bahamas, Grand Cayman, Puerto Rico, St Martens, and better than S. FL / Keys.

Seriously, if not for hurricane season, I'd be there instead of TH.   But 4-6 months of stormy weather, not thanks.   Thai's rainy season is easy to take.   I got chased out of FL twice due to hurricanes, along with the nasty storms they came with them, when they just buzzed by.

Yeah, that's why I left Grand Cayman as well, the hurricanes are a problem. I lived through hurricane Ivan. It's a serious thing.

Whilst they have the best beaches, the places are so tiny though, they lack the grand culture of Thai or SE Asian places. You'd get bored there too quickly.

That and the 'no see 'em' hit you like a wave near sunset  :cheesy:

Spent a long week there diving ... talk about annoying little suckers.

Yes, Cayman is great for diving and sailing. I remember sailing the Caribbean sea in a small catamaran. Happy days.
