For the latest coding I will need a credit advice from my Bangkok Bank.

Would you not need the Credit Advice from the bank to which Wise sent it eg Kasikorn?

  • You need the statement from the bank with their stamp on it.

I already completed my extension last Friday.

I did not have a statement then. Nor did any Officer (line, supe) ask for a statement.

The few transfers I did to Kasikorn were all coded as required (last one Sep 1).
In English it sounds a bit strange (Trade Finance Deposit).
Thai version of statement clearly translates to money from abroad.

The IO said I would need it from my bank which in Bangkok Bank.  I don’t know if they can provide the correct document.

The one time in many years my transfer went to Kasikorn, who then sent it as a Local transfer to Bangkok Bank, I had to get the Credit Advice from Kasikorn. As far as Bkk were concerned, it was local. End of.

As is the norm here in Thailand, IO's have their own rules and what one IO will accept another will not TIT

Or more probably WHO's bed they got out of.  555

I emailed WISE regarding transfers being coded as something other than FTT, and here's the reply I got. Fair enough I did transfer to another of my Bkk Bank accounts. Not again!

I have asked them to tag ALL my recipient banks as needing International coding

We would like to inform you that our team already tag your recipient details that had transfers which previously went via Kasikorn to route all payouts to that recipient via Bangkok Bank Public Company so future transfers to that recipient should not have this issue anymore.

It seems like we tagged specific recipient details not your Wise account in general and if there are other recipient details in the future for this purpose, you might let us know to avoid any other issues.

I have asked them to tag ALL my recipient banks as needing International coding.

That's good news - How to do this online ?

Have just sent them an email request to tag the transfer as International.

That, plus selecting "Funds for long-term stay in Thailand" as the reason for your transfers, should, hopefully, do the trick.

Incidentally I initiated my latest Wise transfer this morning at just after 08:30. Their agency bank as stated in the receipt confirmation was BBL, the appropriate credit was made to my BBL account at 14:01 today and its status is recorded as being an International Transfer. In other words, normal service being maintained in my case. Hopefully the unfortunate incidents which have been reported on AN this past week or so will turn out to be isolated slip-ups on Wise's part.
