Drunken Foreigner Detained Looking for a Fight in Jomtien

They should have just ignored him, he can't punch anyone, just let him wander around until he wakes up. For all we know he could be the next Youtube sensation.

Perhaps the most shocking thing is not a tattoo in sight.

  • Yet another fool abroad. Nothing new, as they are well known all over the world for their problems handling the booze. Pathetic! That fool could not beat a tied up person.

That is part of the problem, bars on Thailand won't stop serving alcohol, even when the person ordering is obviously drunk!

Same as BK and Mac Ds won't stop serving fat people 😁

Pattaya police were forced to intervene late night on 4 September, after a man was seen in the middle of the road, on Jomtien Beach attempting to pick fights with locals and tourists.

According to witnesses, the man, dressed only in shorts, appeared to be intoxicated and was shouting provocations at passers-by before waving his fists in the air. Several visitors reported that he was daring strangers to fight him and had earlier tried to land punches on unsuspecting holidaymakers.

Tourists quickly alerted nearby officers, who moved in to prevent the situation from escalating further. The man, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, resisted briefly before being giving up and was escorted to a waiting patrol vehicle.

Police later confirmed that he was taken to the station and held overnight in a cell. Officials dryly described his accommodation as a “special programme — free room with iron bars,.”

Authorities said no-one were injured during the incident, though several reported feeling threatened by the man’s aggressive behaviour. Police have pledged to maintain a strong presence in the area to ensure the safety of visitors.

The man is expected to be released after sobering up but could face charges if further complaints are lodged.

Stick insect looking to get knocked out

Another headline, made by a  Quality Tourist, this time from the first world.

If he ever hit any of the cops at the scene, he could  enjoy ample opportunities of fist fights behind bars with die hard Thai convicts, but 1 to 10-20.

I mean, I am sure it has happened to many of us that we just 'lost it' at least on one drunken occasion. I mean, yes, what this guy did was on the nasty side, as he was threatening people.

Let me tell you an old memory of mine. Decades ago 🙂  I was 20 then. I was a student at a university in London, UK. I had a big row with my then g/f. We broke up. I got very drunk. I was staying at the on campus dormitory. I remember most of the stuff. I didn't threaten anyone or anything like that, like this guy, but I was extremely loud, possibly using lots of swear words, and also knocking down garbage bins 🙂 Next thing I know, there were 2-3 cops near me. No idea who called them. Either a snitchy student or the security guard. Anyway, I spent the night in a small cell at the nearby police station. I won't go on with details, but I will say that the cops were very nice towards me. And, it was a learning experience. I am from Turkey, and let me tell you that things are very different in Turkey policewise. They would be rough even to a non-threatening student, such as me in this case. Not a country where you would ever want to be at a police station 🙂 Sad, upsetting stuff of course, as it gives a bad reputation to my country.
