Proof of address from immigration

When I go to fly on a domestic flight, they still want my passport.

For a hotel, they still need to file a TM30 for you.  That requires your passport number (and also your passport country). A Thai drivers license includes your passport number but I don't believe a pink ID card does.  So they would still ask for your passport in order to file the TM30.  Normally they just ask for my passport country verbally with my Thai DL.

I'm surprised about the domestic flight one.  I haven't used my passport for a domestic flight for a few years, since I got my Thai drivers license.  If they accept that, they should have no problem accepting a pink ID card.

  • Cheers guys most informative  Thank you farang51

  • It depends on which immigration office you want to get it from. Some give it the same day, at others you have to wait several days.

  • And your post most uninformative.  If you had stated your immigration office in the OP, you would  receive accurate advice then that would be useful to others.  COR has two aspects.  Co

This comes up regularly and folk posting they used TDL or pink card etc.

Few weeks back I checked into hotel in Pattaya.

I thought I would experiment in order to post on AN.

I flipped over my TDL.

Lady: Need passport

Ok so I give pp.

After looking and looking in pp..

I ask : what are you looking for.

Lady: your visa.

I then pointed out my current annual extension page.

Lady: thank you

Bit tired of folk posting a pp not required to check in hotel.

I'm sure it happens.

What's the point. Have your pp for hotel, bank, domestic flights... Whatever.

Didn't file you for you.

This is all off topic.

Go back to OP.

The thread concerns certificate of residence. It's not about is it possible to check into a hotel with TDL.

For things such as obtaining a COR or 30 day extension etc etc may/will require a TM30.

The fact that hotel you checked into did not file a TM30 is irrelevant.
