Gunfire in the streets! Six killed, including a pregnant woman, in a horrific bus attack in Jerusalem as panic ensued.

Chaos erupted Monday morning at the Ramot Junction in Jerusalem. Around 10:13am, gunmen armed with automatic weapons launched a deadly attack, leaving six tragically dead. Both attackers were shot dead by swift action from security and a courageous civilian.

A chilling video captured the scene as people fled in fear. Hamas praised the attackers as 'resistance fighters', yet did not claim direct responsibility. The group called the bloody event a 'natural response' to continuous tensions with Israel.

Among the victims were a 50-year-old man, a woman in her fifties, and three men in their thirties. Medical teams reported that 11 others were wounded, with six sustaining severe gunshot injuries.

Police reports revealed that two assailants arrived by car, targeting a crowded bus stop. A security officer and a bold civilian—armed with his grandfather's pistol and newly licensed—acted swiftly to neutralise the threat. Their bravery prevented further loss of life.

Survivors shared harrowing accounts of survival. Malka Cohen said she hid beneath a car to avoid gunfire, while another witness described the terrifying moments just after leaving the bus. Gunshots rang out, and chaos descended as people ran for their lives.

Paramedics attended a scene of devastation, scattered with broken glass and injured civilians. Immediate medical care was administered as the area swarmed with emergency responders.

Bomb disposal units were swiftly deployed to ensure safety, while investigators gathered evidence. Blood supplies were urgently flown in to assist the critically injured, highlighting the gravity of the situation.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the scene with national security minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. Roads around the area were sealed, and checkpoints between East Jerusalem and the West Bank were shut as a security measure.

In a dramatic international development, US President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Hamas on Sunday, urging the group to negotiate regarding hostages in Gaza. Trump claimed the Israelis agreed to his terms, pressing Hamas for compliance. Hamas responded with a willingness to dialogue after receiving communications from US officials.

News of a proposed Gaza hostage and ceasefire deal emerged, but details remain under wraps. The world watches closely as tensions rise amidst calls for peace.

As investigators piece together the details, Israel braces itself under tightened security. This atrocity marks another grim chapter in a long-standing conflict, leaving families grieving and a nation searching for calm.

Key Takeaways:

  • Deadly Attack in Jerusalem: A fatal bus attack at Ramot Junction resulted in six deaths, including a pregnant woman, with security forces quickly neutralizing the attackers.

  • Tensions and Reactions: Hamas praised the attackers as 'resistance fighters' but did not claim responsibility, framing it as a response to ongoing Israeli tensions.

  • International Response: US President Donald Trump urged Hamas to negotiate on hostage situations in Gaza, with talks of a potential ceasefire deal, highlighting the broader conflict implications.

RIP to all the dead and a swift recovery to all the wounded.

When will all the parties involved have a change of plan and start living together peacefully?

Surely after 80 years of tit for tat attacks like this and worse, it's time to  bring some sensible people from both sides to the peace table, or do these atrocities keep happening ad-infinitum?

Hope springs eternal.

Hamas' electoral victory in Gaza and continued terrorist attacks on Israelis doomed negotiations until Hamas changed its stance; surrendered; or most likely, was destroyed.  That's where we are today and the outlook is not optimistic.

After Hamas’s 2006 electoral victory (in an election international observers called fair), Israel imposed a blockade rather than exploring political engagement. Collective punishment replaced diplomacy.

anytime an Arab tries to talk peace, the Arab is murdered, by those who wish to keep violence going.

and usually by another Arab!

And maybe something to do with IDF killing 40 today. This has become such a normal occurrence it doesn’t make headlines.

Yes, people die in wars unfortunately. Only 40 deaths in a day are not enough to support the media's cries of genocide, so no, it does not make headlines.
