What hotels, price points and city were you at? Were they Mexicans?

I am from that area but have not been back in years. Am thinking of visiting family, but don't remember hotels being that bad.

I started a long answer twice....I got interrupted & I guess they timed out....So going basic....

Napa area to SF and out towards Benicia & the highway corridor....

Definitely Latinos... .

Hotels 2-3.5/4 stars....And, for some odd reason single nights were only available; forcing us to check around....

We usually fly in, spend about a week RV in Napa, then hit the road....This time we found we needed repairs that took a week.....It cost me $7000 that first week & I couldn't get out of there fast enough.....

We usually kept the same routine on every trip - same storage, service, etc,  =  that change took place over about 16 months..... That's usually the interval between trips....

I decided to use Texas from then on for a base....

  • I was watching the illegals protest at Epping and London. I couldn't have afforded to stay in either of those hotels when I was visiting the UK.   150-250 pounds a night .........

  • Something to be proud of, no?   But if you can't afford the same standard you gotta admit you're a failure.

  • Not a failure. Just not an illegal immigrant.😡

I would suggest going up through Marin, Stinson, Point Reyes, Muir Woods, along Hwy 1 towards Fort Bragg next time. Camp along the coast or use bed and breakfasts. You should not have that problem scene near the ocean.

I have relatives in that west bay area and it was almost like Mexico last time I visited. That was several years ago.

@pgrahmm You said "I started a long answer twice....I got interrupted & I guess they timed out....So going basic...."

It has happened to me in the past so I select the text I am writing at intervals, then press the right side of the mouse and copy the text, that way if I lose the comment I can open a new message window and paste the text without having to rewrite again.

Copy and paste basically.
