He was so smart that they had him on cameras. 

The indication now is the murderer came from a gun nut maga family and fairly recently became radicalized in the direction of opposing fascism. He certainly isn't trans. There is even evidence of homophobia which would by typical coming from a maga family.

Opposing fascism in my book is a good thing. Murdering people for expressing  political views you disagree with is certainly very wrong regardless of the political direction.
