RUFUS…!!!! Let’s use RUFUS to make a stick of Leap 16…?!!!

Featured Replies

Dear Folks,

As you know, SUSE has extended support for Leap 15.6…for an extra six months, which was so kind of those hackers involved. They, the hackers at SUSE, are most definitely WHITE HATS.

BUT, for those of us who cannot wait for nothing…..I would suggest that we use RUFUS to create a LIVE stick of the RC for Leap 16, and just HAVE A LOT OF FUN…right now….!!!

Some guys here, I imagine, worry that they might confuse their laptops and desktops through downloading and installing LEAP 16 before the GA version is out. Or, perhaps wisely, decide to wait for a year before upgrading LEAP 15.6 to LEAP 16, due to the changes in the YAST installer, etc.

Therefore, I think what I will do is to first download the RC version of LEAP 16, and just play around with it, and get acclimated to the new environment.

I would suggest that others reading my words might like to do the same….  Because, after all, computers are supposed to be…FUN….

So, what are your thoughts?

Has anyone yet tried LEAP 16?

And, how do you find it?

I am really looking forward to this new GA release of LEAP 16, coming soon, to your Drive-in, this October…but….I cannot wait that long…

And therefore, there is always RUFUS, and making a bootable copy of the RC release, just for starters, and to get used to it, in advance.

I have been using SUSE for over ONE-QUARTER of a century.  My love for the GECKO has never faltered, during these 280 months since I first chose SUSE to be my commuting companion, FOR LIFE.

Are you as excited as I?

Do tell.

Thank you.

Gamma

IMPORTANT NOTE:  I just LOVE the name RUFUS because…This name reminds me of the name BOO in the wonderful novel…To Kill A Mocking Bird.  Both names seem to connotate the same feeling.  And, both BOO and RUFUS always turn out to be just wonderful, in the end.

You can easily download the RUFUS utility from the net.  But, you need to wait a long time to meet up with BOO Radley, in the novel, or in real life.

By The Way:

Aa. Here is BOO Radley

Please do not say that I never gave you nothing.  Thank you.

EXCEPT:  The best Linux equivalent to RUFUS might be.....

I just like the name....RUFUS......

Or, just rely on the SUSE website to download a bootable ISO for Leap 16, maybe....

Oh, Yeah, BABY.....

Some of you might wonder at my usage of the word CONNOTATE:

I am OLD SCHOOL, and feeling very obsolete, these days.....

So, in order to compensate, I am now at the cutting-edge of LEAP-16 userdom.

I have already downloaded the newest version of LEAP 16.

And, I have created a LIVE version of this newest version on a stick.

============

I can report that it is STILL Great to be ALIVE and well in the land of LEAP......

Otherwise, would there even be a reason for taking my next breath, without the next version of LEAP,....

Coming down the pike,....

Year after year.

I am very grateful to the many people that make LEAP such an amazing DISTRO....

For sure....

Hope you guys try it.....

Just create a LIVE USB OS for Leap....

And then....

HAVE A LOT OF FUN......

If not for this new Leap, then....

Would there even be any reason for living????

Ask your GF in Pataya.....because....you can trust her....

To give you her opinion on this Topic.....

Thank you.

SUSE does not get enough press accurately emphasizing just how great it is...I do not know why.

Therefore, I have taken up the cudgel, to the best that my meager abilities allow....

Anyone who loves SUSE will forgive me for this, I think....

We must all do our part to get the good word out to the uninformed masses....

Do it Now....

As Nike says.....

Just do it on your computer....

For somebody who apparently enjoys messing about with multiple operating system live environments, you might want to check out Ventoy, rather than having to image your external drive with Rufus every time you want to try out a new OS.
