A truck collided with a Songthaew on Sukhumvit Road heading towards Pak Nam on the morning of 11 September 2025, leaving 12 people injured. The crash occurred near the Bang Pu Highway Police Service Station in Bang Pu Subdistrict, Mueang District, Samut Prakan. Emergency responders from Sikarin Samut Prakan Hospital, Ruamkatanyu Foundation and Samut Prakan Rescue Association provided first aid and transported victims to local hospitals.

At the scene, authorities found an 18-wheel Hino truck with license plates from Rayong, stopped on the road with front-end damage. A red Yamaha Spark motorcycle was also overturned near the rear right wheels of the truck. The truck had collided with the rear of a white local Toyota Vigo songthaew, route 36 from Pak Nam to Khlong Dan, causing the passenger steps to collapse, rear lights to break and rear panel damage.

Twelve passengers were injured, with two sustaining serious injuries. Nine were taken to Sikarin Samut Prakan Hospital, and three to Samut Prakan Hospital. A red Toyota Corolla was also damaged after being caught in the sequence of impacts.

Witnesses, including a motorcyclist involved, stated that the truck failed to brake and struck the vehicles ahead. Passengers in the songthaew confirmed that the truck collided with their vehicle while changing to the left lane without slowing down. Both drivers offered differing accounts; the truck driver claimed he was driving normally from Rayong to Bang Pu Industrial Estate, while the songthaew driver explained traffic was slow-moving at the time of impact.

Authorities collected evidence at the scene, photographed the vehicles and documented the incident. Both drivers were taken to Bang Pu Police Station for additional questioning. Police will continue the investigation and take legal action according to traffic regulations.
