Trumps attacks on free speech

Featured Replies

This is not a free speech issue.

Peoople can still express their political views freely. Kimmel lied blatantly implying the killer is a MAGA supporter. This obviously offended those people still grieving his death who want the truth about the killing.

So whilst there is still freedom of speech, blatant lying has employment consequences.

In addition cheering on assassination, desecrating memorials, and similar despicable acts will have consequences.

There is still free speech however. It should be noted that Congress has put limits on free speech for decades. So has the Supreme Court. There never was absolute free speech.
