Thai Doctor on Reddit

Featured Replies

Reddit had an 'ask me anything(AMA) from a Thai physician who works in a government hospital. Being Thai, you can ask anything but the person was selective to which questions he/she responded to. Perfect English.

The salary shocked me.

I'm a bit of a rube, so I'll answer in the affirmative.   The salary is what surprised me.

Could be true if the hospital is a government hospital but not for a private hospital.

The Salary could be right for a doctor only if he is very junior, have no specialty, and performs no complicated procedures. however still hard to believe because a registered nurse makes not far from that. example: a nurse in Medpark with some night shifts and OTs, can easily can do 50k-60K/month. a nurse on a decent private hospital would be making 30-40K, if public, 20-30K max.

so it's hard to believe he makes less than a nurse on a private hospital.

too perfect in my opinion

The salary could be right for a government hospital. About 8 years ago, my government hospital doctor told me he got 700 baht for each gall bladder operation he performed.

Thanks for the replies. Ignore the downvotes, I've got someone stalking me and downvoting every post I make.

The doctor's purported salary does shed light on how much a Thai person requires to live a decent life question.

Could be legit, but, with how good AI is nowadays, it could also be anyone of any profession (or not) posing as any nationality. That they might know basic Thai salaries is not a thing.

The thumbs down thing; don't sweat it. Let the numpties stalk and be donkeyfied and boring. 🙂
