They have forever lost their right to be considered freedom fighters and any real Muslim, who was a member of them would have had no other choice than to immediately revoke his allegiance to them and beg the families of the victims for forgiveness after he had heard of the abominations his comrades committed. Because Islam is a religion of peace. Meaning, when Islam is the only religion, and everyone dead or been converted, there will be peace. 

I am trying to imagine what someone could do to me, or my family or my people, such that I would strap an explosive vest on my child and send them to die.

I think Islamic regimes have killed far more than Christians ever thought about, and there has been far more killings under secular regimes than all religious regimes combined.
