Toms of Thailand: Do you love them, too?

Featured Replies

Dear Folks;

I never knew what a Tom could be….’til….I came to Thailand.

I love them.

You might find a few among the younger generation in the uni dorms, for example.

Anyway, Toms were new to me before coming here.

One of the High-Points of my first memories of Thailand involve my experiences with Toms.

What about you?

Don’t you love Thailand for being such an exotic place?

For some reason…

This song reminds me of Thailand Toms….

Such a GREAT Tom Tom Theme….

What do you think?

Is not life GREAT????

I love the diversity of life.

Best regards,

Gamma

Wow, three whole monumental new Topics from you in just one day, in fact, in a matter of merely a couple of hours. Who do we thank for such a wondrous blessing, the director at the sanitarium who graciously untied you for a precious 120 minutes on the computer, your keyboarding nurse on afternoon duty, or perhaps your cat who casually sat on the power button, then threw up a hair ball and inspired sheer genius? Either way, bravo, keep them coming, for this forum would otherwise be a barren wasteland of complete unimportance and irrelevance, with no place in the world without your delightful flurries of delirium and garbled gibberish.

Did you say:  Unimportance and Irrelevance?

Culturally speaking, Toms are both important and culturally/societally very relevant, not to mention IMPACTIFUL,  to Thailand's uni dorm life.

In fact, I would welcome the opportunity to return to school, live in the girls's dorm, and do a Thesis-Only MA on...

"The Social Importance of Toms Living in Women's University Dormitories"

I already know a LOT about this topic.

However, I would need much more first-hand research before writing some very plausible MA Thesis.

Would you consider being my Thesis advisor, provided I am able to get the funding for both of us?

Let's be clear.

Do you really know the meaning of a Tom in present-day Thai culture, especially as defined by college-age people?

Yep, in my vocabulary a Tom is an abbreviation of Tomboy.

Please believe me....

In passa-Thai, a Tom is NOT a tomboy...by any stretch of the imagination.

In western culture...THIS is a tomboy:

BUT, in Thai culture, and according to the literal meaning in passa-Thai....

A Tom is NOT a tomboy.

Haha....

No worries....

I have long since sold all my rifles, pistols, and firearms.....

I sold them when I decided to move to Asia, where nobody likes guns.

I like guns, I had a 308 Bruno, a Mossberg, 8 shot pump action and Bentley 8 shot pump.

Sadly some crazy guy started shooting at people in Tasmania, killing several.

Our government took my guns 😔

When I first hit BKK 25 years ago I never seen any tom boys now they're everywhere. On my first trip I met one in a bar, I thought she was a lesbian at the time. We both had a few to many drinks and I took her back to my hotel and I gave her a right rogering. She didn't complain and later that day she told me she considered herself as bi sexual because she could receive it if she got the urge but she preferred the strap on with other girls. It was a very interesting time I must admit.

I've known a few decent ones. Friendly, helpful in a way that western counterparts are definitely not. Having said that they appear to be extremely insecure, possessive of their girlfriends.

Being the Dee is often just a heterosexual woman exploring different people and relationships. It's a fad and nothing more. You can tell while the Tom clings to her for dear life the Dee is rather ambivalent.

The Tom always has her hands all over the Dee. If a foreign man acted this way (natural) heads would turn. It's obsessive and unnatural and looks as much.

While you see lots of these relationships between women early 20s. I rarely if ever see two older women together with the Tom corralling the Dee. No, I take that back .. I never see two older women together. It's just a fling and Tom is left lonely and alone while all the Dees go on to have normal , healthy heterosexual relationships and marriage

Let me guess OP.. you are homosexual?

That's an old, dead movie apparently much like your  attempt at humor.

You obviously don't live in Thailand. We're just waking up and you're posting up a storm.

The Toms here are not the Toms you are used to.

Tom Jones is pretty good, but he is welsh.
