A debtor in Pattaya opened fire amid a loan dispute, injuring two police officers as he fled. The incident occurred at 11.36pm on September 23 in the Bang Lamung district. Police responded swiftly to reports of gunfire at the scene.

The confrontation involved a 20,000-baht debt, with the debtor, identified as Tawan, attempting to hand over a motorcycle as collateral. Tawan was initially cooperative, signing a document and recording a video confirmation. However, tensions rose abruptly when he allegedly drew a handgun, fired a shot, and the creditors fled.

Witnesses reported that creditors attempted to pursue Tawan and involved motorcycle police, resulting in a crash that injured two officers. The suspect fled in a white Chevrolet sedan. Tawan's actions were a shock, as the creditors only sought temporary collateral for the debt, involving cash and two mobile phones.

Authorities are actively searching for Tawan, considering him armed and dangerous. An arrest warrant is in progress as investigators collect evidence and statements. The officers injured in the incident are reportedly stable.

Key Takeaways:

  • A loan dispute in Pattaya led to gunfire, injuring two officers.
  • The debtor, Tawan, is currently on the run and considered armed.
  • Police have identified the suspect and are pursuing him.

The shooter did not injure the police; they crashed their own motorbike!
