Thaksin’s Sewage Supervision Offer Not Yet Approved

Former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra volunteered to supervise sewage drainage as a form of public service while incarcerated, as confirmed by the Corrections Department. It's now clear that Thaksin initiated the offer himself, contrary to earlier reports that the department had assigned him this task.

Russian Man Blacklisted After Public Sexual Content in Phuket

On 26 September 2025, Phuket police charged a 23-year-old Russian man and a 42-year-old Thai woman for engaging in public indecency while producing sexual content on a pickup truck.

Border Arrests Surge After Three-Month Checkpoint Closure

The Eastern Border Task Force (EBTF) reported a sharp rise in illegal border crossings following the closure of checkpoints along the Thai-Cambodian border. Between 17 June and 25 September 2025, authorities recorded 140 incidents involving 872 individuals attempting to cross the border illegally. This includes 354 Thais, 472 Cambodians and others from China, Nigeria, Myanmar, Sierra Leone, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Police & MPs Probe Bangkok Road Collapse

Bangkok authorities and investigators are intensifying efforts to address the collapse of a section of Samsen Road near Vachira Hospital, which occurred on September 24. The incident, located close to the Samsen Police Station and the under-construction entrance of the Purple Line extension, caused damage to police accommodation and private property. Officials are now examining responsibility, safety and repair measures as the situation continues.

Police and the Thai Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have raided five locations in Bangkok and Pathum Thani, seizing almost 200,000 bottles of counterfeit cough syrup worth over 20 million baht and arresting one suspect. The operation targeted a major illegal network producing and distributing fake medicine.

Man Beats Friend to Death in Chonburi Temple Fight

A 46-year-old man was arrested in Chonburi after fatally assaulting his friend during a drunken quarrel inside a temple. Police confirmed that the victim, a 52-year-old man, died at the scene with multiple injuries to his head and body. The suspect was detained within the temple grounds shortly after the incident.

Police in Bangkok have arrested a Singaporean man and three Thai women for trafficking so-called “zombie vapes”, e-cigarette cartridges laced with Etomidate. The raids on 26 September 2025 targeted two properties in Huai Khwang and Din Daeng districts. Officers seized a total of 150 vape cartridges, ketamine, and assets valued at more than 8.3 million baht.

A house fire in Phrae province on 25 September left a family shaken after 100,000 baht, allegedly hidden behind a wall picture, was reported missing from the burned room. The blaze broke out in the home of 76-year-old Boontan in Ban Pa Daeng, Muang Phrae district and was quickly brought under control by fire crews and neighbours. Police are now investigating both the cause of the fire and the disappearance of the money.

Korat Residents Inspect Safety of Underpass Projects

Traffic Police Receive Technology Training to Help Efficiency

The Royal Thai Police held a seminar to equip traffic officers with technology tools to enhance accuracy and speed in their duties. The event took place at the Police Education Command (B.E.S.) and was part of an ongoing effort to modernise traffic law enforcement. CIB Arrests Suspect in M16 Shootings at Village Home

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has arrested a suspect linked to a violent twin shooting incident in Kantang district, Trang province. The suspect, Mr Veerapong, faces charges including attempted murder and illegal possession and discharge of a firearm. The arrest took place at Thung Song railway junction, Nakhon Si Thammarat province.

1.4bn Baht Highway Breaks Up Within a Year in Phichit

Birthday Party Dispute Ends in Fatal Shooting in Samut Prakan

A birthday celebration in Samut Prakan turned deadly early on 25 September 2025, when a man was shot and killed during an argument. Police from Bang Pu station responded at around 05.30 after reports of gunfire inside a housing estate in Praeksa Mai, Mueang district. Officers discovered the victim, identified only as Mr A , 30 years old, lying dead from a gunshot wound to the head.

Airports of Thailand (AOT) expects Suvarnabhumi Airport to serve 67.7 million passengers in the 2026 fiscal year, reaffirming its role as a leading aviation hub in the region. The projection follows the restoration of Thailand’s aviation safety rating to Category 1 by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), paving the way for direct flights to the United States. United Airlines has already applied to operate a new route connecting Las Vegas, Hong Kong and Bangkok.

Clash at Chong An Ma: Cambodian Troops Fire on Thai Positions

An exchange of gunfire occurred at Chong An Ma, Ban Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani, n 27 September 2025 at 12:03, when Cambodian soldiers fired machine guns and grenades toward Thai positions. Thai soldiers responded with similar armed fire. The incident ended at approximately 12:30, with no reported injuries to Thai troops, though the area remains on high alert.
