We can enjoy different perspectives about how it might end but we are united in the awareness of the risk that it will, and the hope that it does (and I'm not even American).

 

Trumpism will end the same way McCarthyism did....those who were on board with the madness will deny ever supporting him. It could also end the way Ceaucescu or Mussolini ended.

 

Trump is in severe cognitive and physical decline, so the likelihood of him even surviving above ground for 4 years is slim to none. He's become a raving lunatic, claiming ending wars that didn't exist and even taking credit for solving a genocide (Rwanda 1994) when he was filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy and stiffing junk bond investors. He was truly bizarre over the weekend posting about how he is giving all Americans special cards for "med beds", an intergalactic alien invention that can cure everything from HIV to diabetes, though apparently not canckles. Someone at the White House had to take down that social media post. The guy is now an absolute nutcase.

 

Vance, might have a future as a product promoter for Maybelline, but he will not inherit the MAGA cult. Trump, oddly, has charisma to goobers, but Vance is about as charismatic as Melba Toast. He's also a "beardo", using  the verbiage of the drunkard SecDef.

 

I'm not sure the US will ever regain its place it once held in the world until 20 January 2025. It will be seen as something between a hasbeen like the UK or Spain, or simply untrustworthy. I would imagine the rest of the world saw the bizarre show at Quantico yesterday, and it must have had Xi and Putin laughing with delight and former US allies more confident in their decision to distance themselves from the US and form stronger alliances with each other.
