Phuket has unveiled the “Dinsaw Robot,” an artificial intelligence (AI) technology designed to enhance healthcare services, marking a key step towards becoming Thailand’s first AI model city. The launch was held at Vachira Phuket Hospital, with Dr Piyanut Sakulpipat, Deputy Medical Director, Dr Chalermpol Poonnuthok, CEO of CT Asia Robotics, hospital staff and officials in attendance. The initiative aims to integrate AI into public health, improving convenience and quality of life for residents.

The Dinsaw Robot is an intelligent assistant for outpatient and inpatient care. It can review patient histories, manage doctor appointments, verify treatment rights, screen symptoms, connect patients to doctors via video calls and record medical orders. A smaller version, the Dinsaw Mini or Home AI Assistant, offers 24-hour monitoring for home care, suitable for children, adults and the elderly. It also includes features such as music, games, and religious content to support mental well-being.

Significantly, the robot can perform breast cancer screening using breath analysis, delivering immediate risk assessments to doctors. AI technology for cervical cancer analysis is set to debut in Phuket first, while AI-based breast cancer detection will be introduced as a New Year 2026 gift for local residents.

The launch also included a workshop to promote AI awareness and raise support for building skilled AI personnel in Phuket. Beyond healthcare, CT Asia Robotics plans AI-driven solutions for waste management, traffic congestion and food safety. This aligns with the wider vision of “Phuket AI City,” a collaborative project between Phuket Province, the Provincial Administrative Organisation and CT Asia Robotics.

Phuket Governor Sophon Suwannarat described the shift from Smart City to AI City as a crucial transformation, positioning Phuket as the City of the Future. He said AI would not only enhance healthcare but also tackle traffic, waste, pollution and ensure food safety, benefiting residents and tourists alike.

Provincial Administrative Organisation President Rewat Areerob stressed that AI is not just luxury technology but a practical tool to address everyday issues faced by people in Phuket. Dr Chalermpol Poonnuthok, developer of the Dinsaw Robot and pioneer of AI medical innovation, highlighted the “AI for All” approach, bringing together government and private sectors to create inclusive AI applications. He noted that Dinsaw Medical AI can provide fast, accurate primary health screening, showcasing Phuket as a model for other regions.
