Re-entry permit at Swampie. What time do they open?

Featured Replies

I need to get a re-entry permit early Monday morning. My flight leaves at 10am. I would be checking in 7am.

Do I go to re-entry desk at 7am. Where is it exactly? Are they open at 7am?

What do I have to take?

thanks

As above - its 24 hrs as its part of Immigration.

The re-entry permit desk at Suvarnabumi normal Immigration lines is to the left, just before the Immigration booths / Auto-gates.

Get your re-entry permit before you pass any Immigration desk or Auto-gate.

You don't need to take anything other than sufficient cash to make payment - the Immigration officers there process everything for you - You'll just need to decided if I want a Single or a Multiple re-entry permit.

Single Entry: 1,000 Baht

Multiple Entry: 3,800 Baht

+ 200 baht processing fee (if you are not filling the forms out yourself) - or you can download the form and fill everything out yourself from the Immigration website (linked below)

Just to add to the above. The re-entry permit desk is in the International Departures section 2.

On my last journey I mistakenly went through section 3 and had to pass through immigration then walk airside, through the duty free area to get to section 2, then enter through the back door.

If you leave the country for a specific time, does it put the visa validity and the remaining time to stay on pause ?

Great idea, but sadly no...validity time "out or in" is the same...

Others have already given you opening and location information, my only addition would be don't even think about trying to save the 200 baht by doing the forms yourself and taking your own photos. It's the best 200 baht you'll ever spend. When you come down the escalator after security, turn right and you'll see it.

All you have to do is give them your passport, tell them your return date and whether you want single entry or multiple. You have to do precisely nothing else. They take your passport and take a picture, they print out the form which already has all your visa and address info on it from their records. Pay, then they send you to a window to hand over your passport and application, sit down, and five minutes later someone gives it back to you and then you go off to the autogates and exit.

I did it most recently a month ago before a Singapore trip and got a multi entry. I timed it - six minutes from approaching the desk, to all the above happening, to getting my passport back.

I can't imagine why anyone would ever join the throng to do it a CW, it is so so easy at the airport, and the staff are really polite and helpful.

If you fill out the form before you go and bring a recent picture there's no 200bt fee. Form is downloadable and editable.

I am arriving with a Non IMM O 90 day visa.  I did not add , did not see that I could when I applied online, any sort of reentry so i assume it is single entry only,  If I want to exit thailand and re enter can I get a single or multiple re entry permit at BKK for this Visa?

Yes.  It is a single 90 day entry with your visa.  You can buy re-entry permit at either BKK or DMK on departure.  1000 for a single.

That should be fine.  but 1000 baht?  that seems expensive.  Not 200 baht?

It's 1000 for the REP, the 200 is additional if you have them fill the form and take a picture.

OK I got it.  Thanks

Bear in mind that if you do make a side trip after the first 30 days of your stay then it's not really worth doing an REP as you'll get a 60 day exempt entry when returning.  The only thing you'd need is your onward flight details to possibly show the airline when coming back.

Yes. I understand.  But I would probably just get and use the REP though and save the Exempt entry for next trip or later in the year.  My travel or stay plans for 2026 are not firm yet

Off topic question, but what “Visa Number” do you put on the digital arrival card?

Do you put your original visa number or do you put your re entry number?

You can just leave it blank, or put in your visa or re-entry permit number.

The "correct" answer is to use the re-entry permit number.  In practice, I've used both and both work.
