Security forces in Narathiwat conducted coordinated raids, detaining three individuals in connection with a gold robbery at a Big C branch in Sungai Kolok and a previous bombing incident. The suspects were taken for questioning and DNA samples were collected, although no illegal items were found in their homes.

The operation involved the Narathiwat Provincial Police, the Special Operations Centre for Southern Thailand and units from the 48th Ranger Battalion. Authorities targeted homes based on technical intelligence, relating to a bombing of a local subdistrict protection team in Sukhirin district on 28 June 2025 and the theft of 600 baht worth of gold on 5 October 2025.

The first suspect, Mr Azro Benkaso, aged 25, was located at his residence in Taluban Subdistrict, Su-ngai Padi district. Authorities seized five items, including a Vivo V30 mobile phone, clothing and a green sarong and collected DNA from him, his father Mr Mayuha, and three brothers. No illegal items were found.

The second suspect, Mr Niarifan Nile, aged 24, was found at a residence in Taluban Subdistrict. Officials seized a mobile phone, clothing, a hat, and a red-and-black Honda Wave motorbike before taking him to Su-ngai Padi police station for questioning.

The third suspect, Mr Anwa Bin Abdulraman, aged 43, was located at his home in Rom Sai Subdistrict. Authorities did not find any illegal items and transferred him to the 46th Ranger Battalion interrogation centre in Kaluwoe Nuea, Muang district, Narathiwat, for further questioning.

Authorities have gathered sufficient evidence to request arrest warrants for four individuals involved in the Big C Sungai Kolok gold robbery. The three suspects detained during the raids are expected to be formally questioned as part of ongoing investigations.
