Drinking water . filter system or bottled water?

Featured Replies

Anyone recommend a good quality water filter system as we have been buying these 6 litre bottles for years as our last filter system never seemed safe even after filter changes

Nothing wrong with them but having to go to Makro and get about 10 of these each time we visit i always say i am going to get RO Water purifier system and now we are about to move house i should get one installed

Nothing beats RO system at home. Even tastes better. btw, bottled water is still filtered tap, industrial filters but ... Invest in good name RO, period.

Many thanks have you got a suggestion of a good brand as see so many different ones

Bottled water from respected vendor.  18+ L @ ฿15 or ฿20 delivered.   RO & tested.

Had 2 counter top filters, useless.  Good for sediment and chlorine smell / taste.  Tested (T..D..S) @ tap ~170, out of filter, about the same 🙄

Hi yes we had a counter top filter before that was not that good but not wanting to mess around with large bottles and don't want the hassle of filling up smaller bottles to go in the fridge
Even the 6L bottles are a hassle

Dear @kwak250, I would not give you exact one - they keep changing over time, just like the quality of BG's Whooper from 1998 till 2018. Just aim to Koreans they somehow can keep up with quality. I bought one 15 years ago from Korean MLM. Well, honestly my wife did, and since then never regret.

When I bought mine even the cleared water had some pleasant taste. Although not a "taste" per se, just seriously improved.

Also dumb question is "UV or not UV" - negative.

Firstly you should get the water tested to assertain what needs filtering, from there you can decide what is required.

The problem with RO is it also removes the useful minerals required in drinking water.

You normally only need, sediment filter, carbon filter, resin cartridge and UV, if this isn't sufficient I would suggest staying with bottled water for drinking and cooking.

I had one of these and although i never tested the water it wasnt a nice taste even from new

I also have seen the RO systems remove many good minerals

Must admit the taste of the bottles water seems much nicer than what We used to get from our filtered system and the filters were expensive.

Might keep to lugging the 6L bottles around .

We have a truck come round with larger bottles but i always think of Peckham spring water when i see those.
